Poll: How much do you hate Frank Horrigan?
Vote on how much you hate the leader of the Enclave.
I don't have any feeling for him... I mean really, he appeared out of nowhere and that's just plain bad writing.
Vault Dweller : "Ok, good! I just succeded in totally blowing up this place... now I gotta GTF Out of here fast!"
Frank Horrigan : "Too bad I'm here! Maha! You've never really met me before (Except for that time you saw me kill a bunch of people but I let you go just so later on in the game you'd be able to kick my ass hard), but I definately hate you and I'm gonna keep you from winning the game! Rawr!"
Vault Dweller : "But I'm a diplomacy boy, and I can't fight! If you don't mind Mr. Horrigan, I'll just talk my way out of this now."
Frank Horrigan : "NO! Stupid slut! You can't have bad writing without bad gameplay balance! You die now!"
I mean really, shouldn't an arch nemesis final boss kinda be like, yknow, introduced before the final battle? That little random encounter was so half-assed, and I didn't even remember it by the time I got to the end. Bad times.

his character is pretty interesting, though.
u get to know him from many places (i just remember now the recording u see when you are at Goris' place)
but yeah, interaction with the guy was never an option, that's bad we could've been friends

well yeah, but as it reads from the bibles, frank could've been somebody better built. but he is like a thug, no more, no less.
and about the turrets, i dunno how the hell my brother managed to kick the asses of frank, his "elves" and those turrets at almost the same time??

The second time I was there, I hit the first shot with the vindicator doing 999 points of damage...that was nice...and fast too!
But it isn't a really difficult character...just some dude you've got to kill.
The only special thing is that he's BIG...the first time I saw him in the encounter I was in total awe...I didn't expect that.

Frank is up there with worse bosses. He just never impacts on the player enough during the game.
You look at the Master. How much did you learn about him before you ran into him? logs, religous icons and various encounters with people built up his persona.
Take Shodan from System Shock 1, The fact that Shodan was continually talking to you and putting you down was a great element. And built Shodan as some haughty self rightous arsehole.

Frank could have been better, yes, and the fact remains that he was just some overgrown errand-boy for the president, who, incidentally, wasn't even that evil-seeming. How lame is that?! They try to make the end boss evil, but he's just some stupid lackey, while the mastermind just brushes you off! A total of 3 min dialog with the man who plans to destroy hundreds of thousands of people! Pointless. Like the master would be one of the 50 hp supermutants and u would have to fight Harry at the end!
"Science fiction wiggers" is my new favorite phrase.

What I thought was idiotic was that encounter in F2 where Horrigan & his Enclave buddies were interrogating a farmer & his family and the PC came in on the scene. Frank murders them in cold blood, and then turns to the PC and says something like, "This is none of your affair. Turn around and walk away,"... it seemed idiotic and hard to believe that a psychotic like Frank or a bunch of trained Enclave soldiers wouldn't kill the player then and there.
It would probably have been better if the player had hid behind a rock or something and watched the whole thing from afar.

suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.
