<strong>[Game -> Update]</strong>

<html><body><P>Remember that alternate history tactical shooter game where the Soviet Union invades New York? Probably not, considering the name changes virtually every other week. Anyway, the <A HREF=http://www.eagames.com/official/freedom/home.jsp target=_blank>official site</A> for “Freedom Fighters opened today with lots of new screenshots and several videos. Here’s a few pics to get an idea of what it’s all about:</P><blockquote><center><A HREF=http://images.ea.com/eagames/official/f ... shot1a.jpg target=_blank><img src=/madmaxrw/freefight1a.jpg></A> <A HREF=http://images.ea.com/eagames/official/f ... creen5.jpg target=_blank><img src=/madmaxrw/freefight2a.jpg></A> <A HREF=http://images.ea.com/eagames/official/f ... mage52.jpg target=_blank><img src=/madmaxrw/freefight3a.jpg></A></center></blockquote><P>The game is expected in stores for the PC, Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube this fall. You can read all about it at the <A HREF=http://www.eagames.com/official/freedom/home.jsp target=_blank>Freedom Fighters homepage</A>.</P></body></html>

Its not the graphics its the story that counts!

What Ive seen from this it looks good, mite I point folks attention to this lil sound byte from the site, "from the makers of Hitman 2"

Of course I'd rather see a demo

The game had promise but then they fucked it up and turned it into a cartoony arcade shooter rather then cerbral PC action strat game.

We don't know that for sure. They keep mentioning a "strategy element," which unfortunately sounds more like simple base management than something a la X-Com. From the videos, it seems a lot more tactical than just some corny shooter. I wasn't expecting Rainbow Six, and I don't think anyone else was, either.

There hasn't been a lot of media surrounding the game, and a good deal of info hasn't been posted on the site. Right now there's no telling which direction it's learning towards.
I'll get you, Yoshimi.

Hm... I hope you'll be able to play only as a commie... then this would be my kind of game.

Which would explain his turmoil, considering the two are pretty much mutually exclusive. :P

As for the producers of Red Dawn suing the makers of the game...I kind of doubt it. John Milius has gotten way too fat -- he and Lucas trade chocolate chip cookie recipes if the rumors are true -- to be bothered with getting out of his massively reinforced office chair and waddling/slithering into a court.
