FO-POS Dev Diary #4

Post by Killzig »

[ -> N/A]

Oh boy, someone let Chuck Cuevas out of his cage again.

Developer Diary #4

Hello Vault Dwellers,

If we were in a Vault how would you be getting this message to us? Carrier pigeon?

Great to see you back for another installment of the old Developer Diary.

It's kind of funny, half the company has to be laid off or defect for you to be called a developer -- AND YOU STILL FLAUNT IT.

The Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel team has been busy bringing the Fallout world to life in beautiful Technicolor 3D. All three chapters with their respective locales are finally completed and getting all spruced up for your enjoyment come October.

We're trying to make it look as pretty as possible so that you're too stupefied to pay any mind to the half assed story or the pedantic gameplay. OOooo yay, let's run through mazes and shoot stuff -- INNOVATION!

Updates on what we are doing lately……Carbon, the town our story begins in, is just about completed and has just entered some serious testing. Everyone is happy to see the Brotherhood take in interest in their little hamlet, well not everyone.

Oh that sounds fun, intrigue even. So I get to run around this town that has a doctor, a gunsmith, a prostitute, and a bar listen to their one way conversations then potter off to kill the appropriate baddies? Hey lookie, I just experienced the town without shelling out 50 bucks for your sorry excuse of a game. Go me!

Los, the second setting of our story is coming to life on a daily basis. The inhabitants of the ruined city are chomping at the bits to get some player flesh to gnaw on. When you get to the bridge area, be careful not to fall off, we don't want any players drowning before you complete your mission (or the locals get some dinner).

Los what? Los Zombies? I just love what you've done with the Ghouls, can't wait to see what you've done with the super mutants. What's that you say? Gay bikers? Interesting. Hey, I guess that is pretty challenging, pitting the player against your piss poor pathfinding AI.

And for the final chapter, the local Vaults have opened their doors to the initiate's. The old civilian (mostly) personnel of the Vaults could not be any more tickled pink to see new faces, except some of the locals may have something to hide.
So are they tickled pink or do they have something to hide? Can you please make up your mind? Did you JUST write this now?

In addition to the locations being finalized, some exciting things are brewing over in the programmers' corner. New effects are going into the game daily. The Turbo Plasma Rifle and the Laser Pistol are too much fun. Watching ghouls disintegrate from a burst of focused energy is quite satisfying.

Yea, it was satisfying in Fallout 1 and 2 as well. So what have you added?

An announcement for all of you fans out there, the Lollapalooza tour is back and is being presented by Xbox this year. That means they are going to have some of this years most anticipated titles at their GameRiot facility. Make sure to hit the traveling show and play Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel.

Ooh. Sponsorship, a pity it wasn't BAWLS again. Grab your radiated BAWLS and Run Like Hell eh Chucky?

Well that is it for now. I was hoping for one of the designers to visit with you, but they have been extremely busy banging away on the game. Maybe a few more questions to the FAQ will get them out of their shells.

Try to get one of them to stop drooling on themselves long enough to not fuck up your keyboard, ASSHOLE.

Take it easy!

UP YOURS.

Chuck Cuevas - Producer

Killzig - Agitator.

Don't forget there's also a second update to the Fbos site, that is crafted like a letter (to view it click on the restricted button and type in "vault dweller").

This letter (supposed to be written by the cliché nice-prostitute with a naive southerner accent) mentions a raider matron, that's right the raider group is somehow run by a female that "has them wrapped around her finger and they do whatever she says", even thou raiders can just go steal girls whenever they want. And all renders of female characters are given identical breast sizes and are either prostitutes, dominatrixes, or nurses nice way to ruin Fallout's respectable portrayal of women while your at it.

Chucky already explained this:

See Killzig? You should pay more attention to Chucky. He's not usually that eloquent, but you can generally understand what he's trying to say.

Actually, they've already signed on with BAWLS to do a product tie in with Fallout Enforcer. Seriously.

If I were them though, I'd go with:

After a long night of ass fucking a good, well respected license, I work up a grande thirst! That's when I and the rest of TEAM CHUCK reach for our BAWLS and suck. it. DOWN!

In addition to the fact that's a completely idiotic concept, I can't imagine old vault dwellers would be hard to kill. Unless OMG U C4N FITE AN KILL OV3RS33R!! I NEW IT ALL ALON

Oh come on. You can insult the guy for his facts and ideas, but is there really any reason to insult his attempts to color it a little more (as in Vault Dwellers)?

I think its a much better attack when you aren't picking apart everything, but only the meaty parts that you can really squash him with.

I agree, this site seems to be slowly turning into nothing but a slamfest. Are you that bored Killzig, to go through the diary and pick apart every little thing you possibly can? Just send the guy a mail-bomb and be done with it.

This has been a slamfest for quite a while. I guess you weren't around shortly after the FOT release.

I guess you and Chuck have a lot in common :)
The answer to your first question is shaddup.
