O.k i think what they should do is after fallout 3 is made they should redo fallout 2 and make it the same graphics but they shold fix all of the broken quests. Also fix the horrigan battle and other things like the random encounters should be changed.

ehhhh...depends on the turnout of fo3...if it sucked, i don't want a bunch of unimaginative idiots screwing around with a game that didn't exactly suck...
"Science fiction wiggers" is my new favorite phrase.

Hmmm... Never looked in the scripts, but were the ends of the broken quest already pretty much done?
-By The Way: Would it be possable to take the FO:T graphics into FO:2? Other than the towns, unless FO:T has all the scenery to build all of 'em...
Of course the engine probobly wouldn't like that.
EDIT: Or, theoretically, would it be posable to lift the FO:2 graphics, speech, and plot and place it all in FO:T, removing all but engines/programming? just a thaought, and, knowing the basic rules of games, it probobly wouldn't work. Oh well its in the air now!
*NOTE* never played FO:T, just assumed it was a waste of money...

KillaKilla's logic:
FOT and FO: BOS weren't FO at all!........... 1. I am nobody
DOGMEAT is God. Never dispute this!........ 2. Nobody is perfect
Up and coming hardware nerd.................. 3. Hence I am perfect

This idea was not well thought out, it was just something you came up with quickly and thought in your stupidness to post it in the off chance that anyone would give a damn. Any fan-based project out there could fix the broken quests, its just not a pressing issue.

You could import the graphics from FO/FO2 into FoT, using Red's RedViewer program. However, you'll be stuck w/shitty looking, badly aligned tiles in many cases, unless you're a 3D modeler and are willing to sit down and build models of the walls, then import them into RedViewer and make tiles canted at the proper angle.Killa-Killa wrote:-By The Way: Would it be possable to take the FO:T graphics into FO:2? The main problem w/FO-to-FoT conversions is that you don't have the wealth of interactive options of the RPGs in FoT. You don't have true dialogue (just diatribes). You can't script NPCs using items on themselves or others. The list goes on and on and on.Killa-Killa wrote:EDIT: Or, theoretically, would it be posable to lift the FO:2 graphics, speech, and plot and place it all in FO:T, removing all but engines/programming? just a thaought, and, knowing the basic rules of games, it probobly wouldn't work. Basically, the project just isn't feasible.
If you can get it cheaply -- which you can since it was relegated to the bargain bins shortly after its release -- it'll amuse you for a bit. Provided, that is, you don't fire it up expecting FO3, which it ain't...Killa-Killa wrote:*NOTE* never played FO:T, just assumed it was a waste of money...
OTB
"On the bounce, you apes! Do you wanna live forever?!"
that ian-out program used its own engine and all the fallout artwork/graphics to make its own fallout.
the demo was quite hilarious, try and find it in fanfallout forum or something if you are interested.
if you are a super computer guy you probubly could set up some sort of engine that used its own art/graphics (all better versions of the fo2/1 stuff) but used all the scripts somehow... if you are a super computer guy, it would be possible. but i have no idea how and am just theorizing...
