Fallout 3 TB or RT, the official story... or something.

Discuss the game that started it all, and its sequel. Technical questions and issues go into the Fallout Technical Support forum, not here.

Fallout 3 TB or RT, the official story... or something.

Post by SuperH »

Yeah, I'm way too lazy to find another thread that's about this so I'll start this one, just to give mistah J.E.'s line on the turn based / real time controversy... it's pretty much as expected :

J.E. Sawyer :
"A Fallout sequel would almost assuredly have a turn-based mode and a real-time with pause mode, toggled outside of combat. I'm not even going to bother to justify it either, because if you haven't heard all the arguments from every side already, I'm sure they will all be vomited forth in less than a day. Also, I have never seen anyone change their opinion on this subject even a little."

At least it's a little reassuring to see that there will be a pure TB mode. Who knows... maybe they'll even get the realtime mode to a reasonable balance between, well, realtime and fun combat. Cause realtime combat doesn't = fun combat to me.

It will just depend on how much the TB mode is butchered to accomodate the RTS mode :(
I have returned from my dark slumber....

Any butchering of the TB mode will be the result of wanting to balance things out, not to have it sync up with RT or anything.

Go read the NMA FO3 FAQ, people. It's much better.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

Yeah this thread is mad old, it's been dead for a long long time. Wasn't even ever alive, I don't think.
