A game called Odium

Is anyone familiar with this game? I picked it up in a bargain bin today for $2 (how could I resist when the back of the box proclaimed "Combines Fallout and X-Com with great looking results"?) and did a quick google search before installing it to see if any patches had ever been released, but I couldn't find any relevant information. The game is about four years old and doesn't seem to be supported anymore. Does anyone know if this title ever required a patch? More importantly, is it worth installing and playing?

It had the worst turn-based combat system ever, from memory. I seem to remember the demo was fucking painful. But pretty, for it's time.

It kept crashing and going to the desktop, so i gave up on it.

But try it anyway, the combat isn`t so bad, maybe too tough in the start, the atmosphere is really creepy. I would give it a 60% though...

Hmm that totally looks like Gorky 17 but the HUD is diffrent, wired?

I read a descrip on some page and it says that the lab youre exploring is called Gorky 17.

Game looks kinda ok though. Never saw it before.

Hmm must be a Gorky 17 0.

It canÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢t be the second one because thatÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s soon to be released or it's a spin off or something.

Ifn my memory doesnt fail me (and thatÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â´s a possibility) Odium is the US title for Gorky, a Estern European somewhere made game.

Gorky 17 had more support and tweaked combat.

I talked about the game before, even made a topic about it.

I loved the game , don't listen to Kreegle here, the turn base is decent, the story's cute, the music's awesome(I even managed to rip it), the atmosphere is incredible, and it's a very fun game in general, although terrible linear and rather short.

Everyone on the forum would definitly love the Polish guy , and the monsters are definitely innovative in terms of look.

It's called Odium in the US, and Gorky 17 in Europe, I think. Doesn't matter, same game

I liked the game too. The only things I didn't like about it was the difficulty (damn it was hard!) and the linearity/shortness.

I could only get up to that spider thing in the serwers, I tried and tried but never got pass it.

at least I think it was a spider

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. It sounds interesting enough that I'll install it and give it a whirl. Even if it turns out to be not very entertaining, since I only paid two bucks for it I'm not going to be out anything except a little bit of my time.
