S.T.A.L.K.E.R. HUD/Inventory Info
<strong>[ -> N/A]</strong>
<html><body><P>Here’s some interesting stuff about <A HREF=http://www.stalker-game.com/ target=_blank>S.T.A.L.K.E.R.</A>’s HUD coming straight from the German Games Convention:</P><blockquote><em>[…]Meanwhile, the HUD and inventory have been worked out. The HUD contains indicators for your injuries, hitpoints and an auto-map. Apropos injuries: you can locate the injured enemy by following his blood spots. This also works the other way around when you are injured. Injuries need to be medicated, because in cases of dangerous injuries you might suffer exsanguinations. Injuries will also affect your capacity to act. For instance if your arm is injured, you won’t be able to aim very well or if your leg is injured, you won’t be able to run that fast and will limp.
In the inventory there will be bars for blood, food, stamina and radioactivity. Sleeping and food is necessary. You should try to find a safe location to sleep as hostile Stalkers or mutants may “disturb” you while sleeping. In case of total run out of food, you can hunt down mutant-rats or birds and eat them, however in some cases it can lead to toxication or radioactive contamination. Your stamina is stamped by your tether and lots of actions. This means you can not jump or sprint around forever and need to take breaks. Additionally, there are slots for your weapons, grenades, tools and there is an ammo-belt as well – the other things are to be transported in your bag or in the trunk of your vehicle.[…]</em></blockquote><P>Thanks to <A HREF=http://www.oblivion-lost.com target=_blank>Oblivion-Lost</A> for <A HREF=http://board.oblivion-lost.com/viewtopi ... =9376#9376 target=_blank>translating</A> part of the <A HREF=http://gamesweb.com/gc-2003/berichte/de ... m_id=68338 target=_blank>Gamesweb preview</A>.</P></body></html>

Wheeee... dynamic injuries.
Every time i snipe a familiar stalker in the kneecap just for the satisfaction of seeing him limp next week, I will be able to grin to myself and think of all the wasted bullets in those wonderful halflife mods where a shotgun round can go through your enemies shin and they don't even falter a step.
Lovely
Ohh yesssss... To play an evil stalker... to play an evil character in a game that can accept the evil path. I haven't done that since fallout. Baldurs gate near-enforces being good for 95% of the followers and services in the game. I can hunt my rivals... walking terminator-like through the ruined villages.. following his trail of blood as he flee's crippled to hide from my onslaught..
*giggles and hides back in his cupboard*

I realize that these are two different games, but what I mean is: Playability, popularity, best bang for your buck, and gameplay overall.Mr Carrot wrote:The question is, is half life 2 intending to offer depth or a cinematic play experience?
