I always compared it to listening to something on a radio. Someone else owns it, and is sharing it with you. Ofcourse then the argument always becomes, "Well you can't just listen to it anytime you want!" inwhich I reply "Thats why I own tapes and a record button."BlackDog wrote:too bad that although you can copy stuff, the law still makes it illegal to SHARE it.
In reality the RIAA is being abit paranoid and lets not mention dumb about all of this. I mean really, a twelve year old girl? Even if what she did was illegal, she's twelve! Most adults didn't even know it was illegal until the RIAA told them suddenly "Oh yea, its illegal guys."

They're called Magic Eye puzzles, popular in the mid-90s (unless of course you're referring to the goatse instead, but I think you, of all people, should be well acquainted with Mr. Goatse).Smiley wrote:The "magic picture" on that last link...
What are those normally called? I've tried to find them online =/
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

No...I think it was on the legality, thats what the RIAA cares about. As for the "wether they can stop all of us", thats the least of my worries. You can't stop all of ANY crime, why do you think murders get away? I'm pretty sure if the deterance (Read the bill) is high enough, people will stop, but that doesn't make it right.Nuclear Gandhi wrote:The argument is not whether or not it's legal, for laws can be changed. 63,000,000=No, they can't stop us all.

what i want to know is why the RIAA worries about shitty music so much when there isnt a group monitoring all the movies you can go and dl anytime you feel like it. you can get full games too and there isnt an online game nazi downloading group running around and gooking people who download full games and hacked software.

People downloading music has really crippled the industry, while the movie industry is doing merely okay (though it's had a poor box office summer) and the games industry is doing better than ever. The music industry needs money, and is doing very poorly right now, so they're doing whatever they can to get better (no matter how bad it makes them look, it seems).
