Mad Max 4 On Hold

If they got enough in the can; they can fake the rest with computer enhanced screen/composite/crop shots. Pixelate Mel so he can stay home, and who ever owns the bits and bites will perpetuate him like a William Gibson AI.....
Paint our tan deserts white and add in a Pacific North West pale bright sun and the bluest of arctic air mass skys.
Perhaps if it's convincing they can pimp their 'puter prowess.

For who? Sorry to any Namibians out here, but Namibia is practically the Earth's equivalent of Tatooine. "The ass-end of space." A slab of desert in south-west Africa. What would terrorists gain by attacking a movie crew in the middle of nowhere? Most of them, or at least those who plan stuff, are fairly intelligent people, why waste effort on such a petty "target"?
With this attitude, they probably aren't going to make the film in this decade. :x
And why exactly can't they film it in Australia, anyway? The services there too expensive?

I don't know, but that's what their reason is. I think it's more along the lines of the US military telling them not to move around in the area. You have to remember they have A LOT of vehicles made for this movie. Anything that looks like a large military operation and isn't controlled by the US makes some people nervous I guess.
Oh yeah. and they're not shooting in Australia because George Lucas booked all available studio space at Fox studios for Episode 3.

Why would they want all those stage sets for?
Maybe the real outback is too much for them?
I'm confused?
