start fallout2 in a gr8t way

Post by amer »

so do u start fallout2 in a gr8t way?

1- ur character has to be a good thefh
2-when u finish the temple
3-head to ncr( for the people who don't know where it is it's south-east
4-when ur there u can see 3 guards, the all have the bozar, save the game, then sneak behind 1 and steal, ur steal level better be around 40- or 50 to make sure that u don't get caught, after u steal the bozar save, then steal the ammo...etc... then u have the best gun, it helped me alot it was the only gun i used in the game.

and if u want to gain experience without goin in to much trouble. Go to NCR, without a gun in the 2 slots, head up after the sheriff's office then u'll see a lady with a robot, go into the building behind here , u'll see a computer in the nord corner, just repair it, look @ the buttom screen when u see it's righten on-line and workin (or somethin like that) go talk to the lady, u can keep doin that all the time, and u'll gain experience, and u'll get books, my adviceis to level ur barter skills, so u can sell the books to buy ammo, and weapons for ur npc, there is another place in NCR where u can do that but it's gona stay my little secret!1

If you don't know then you obviously haven't been smoking enough pot.....become a hippie. It'll show the way.

and I'm pretty tempted to throw this into the wasteland....

Help me out here, I'm kinda slow and have trouble understanding advanced logic... If you only used the bozar, how do you know it's the best? I mean, what frame of reference could you possibly have without trying most other weapons?

Especially if you put the emphasis on the RP part when you created your thief character and kept in mind thieves generally are sneaky, silent, and unobtrusive, at elast the ones who live long enough to be good at it, and so they're unlikely to ever be caught toting a bozar around. It's a bit too heavy, a bit too bulky, and a bit too noisy.

Yes, I know, it's an old thread, but I couldn't hlep it.

They're called munchkins. In a few thousand generations, they stand a good chance of evolving sentience.

I've never confused Fallout with role-playing, at least not in the classical sense. I like Fallout largely because I have a very active imagination. This is kinda hard to explain, but for instance, If I calmly walk into a bar in Klamath with power armor, and there's 2 other people in power armor with me, I like thinking about the reactions of the other people in the bar. Damn, this really is hard to explain, and I guess there are a lot of RP elements that I like about the games.

All I know is that I get the same type of "fun" while playing Fallout as I do when I watch movies like Mad Max, and Waterworld, etc. (Yes, I did like Waterworld a lot, sue me)

EDIT: So maybe it is the PA theme that I like so much, but I think I would like the game almost as much if it had a different setting.

whats wrong with getting advanced power armor and the bozar when u r lvl 2-3?
its role play, everyone plays how he wants, if u want to be a little sob that bullshits his way past guards to get the advanced power armor and steal some nice guns then thats their choise

advanced power armor is the first thing i get after the temple of trials
and by returning the ventribird plans u immediately have access to the BoS building to implant some of those modules to boost your char.

my character is an adventurer, in one of his great journeys he comes across san fran and finds a guy who gives info about a base to infiltrate
even as a low lvl he is brave and embarks on this dangerous quest and ooh look now, after bullshitting his way in the base he finds a nice drill instructor who tells him to go to the armory and get a nice power armor, better do what the man says. after this way too dangerous adventure my character decides its time to take it a bit easier and head towards klamath to find vic and hopefully a GECK. who knows what crazy adventures he ll end up in next...

there u have it, nice isnt it? :)

So your ignorant tribal, after being assigned his quest just wanders down south, ignoring all the towns in the way, until he gets to San Fran? Not to mention his best lead is to the east, in Klamath and the Den? The only way you can call this roleplaying is if your character has an Intelligence score of 2.

Again, your ignorant tribal just wanders south, picks up the best weapons and armour in the world, then just wanders back up and goes to Klamath in search of Vic like nothing ever happened? That's pure, unadulterated bullshit.

Not really. In fact, I'd say reading your pseudo-justification of munchkinism has left a nasty taste in my mouth.

Munchkinism is evil and must be destroyed.

That aside, was there a reason to resurrect this thread in the first place? Other than that lame attempt to legitimately explain away complete powergaming, I mean? Everyone does it now and then, everyone enjoys it, it's pointless to try to deny that, but it doesn't get annoying until you try to pass it off as roleplaying.

Though I should probably leave this thread alone if I don't want it resurrected, shouldn't I?
