D20 Modern Fallout (NWN)
I haven't seen this mentioned before...I saw the other NWN Fallout MOD mentioned here...I tried it...It blows...
BUT...There is hope.
D20modern is creating a new NWN MOD that will actually have weapons, and is using skills and such...Sounds very promising...I've seen them recruiting on other boards.

Well, eating shit sounds better than eating ebola, but I'd rather do neither. This can't be good.
First, it's the NWN engine so suck factor 8.
Two, it's a mod, which adds a couple of suck points by default due to lack of professionalism and design talent (there are exceptions to this rule like Counter-Strike or Desert Combat, but in a game like NWN, it applies in full force).
Three, it's made by people who (evidently) liked NWN. Therefore, we can surmise that they enjoyed FO for all the wrong reasons ("OMG u can haev SAIX FOR MUHNEH !!!"), so the suck factor increases by another five points. That's a total suck factor 15. 15. That's pretty fucking sucky, pal.

NWN's a piece of shit. If you can't make up your own system, instead play Fallout in GURPS. Now why don't they make a GURPS computer game (with the same expandability of NWN) already :/
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

Truthfully....I've never played NWN...I don't even own it.
BUT...I'm sure there are one or two people out there that play it.
Is it so bad that people want to pay homage to Fallout? Plus, is it so bad that this could be a good mod? It will surely be much better than the Neverfallout Nights thing that was mentioned here a while back.
I'm just the messenger...Don't get so pissy at me.

Even though d20 borrowed a lot of gameplay elements from Fallout, the fact of the matter is that the two don't work at all. d20 insists on being balanced, while Fallout is wacky, radically different (considering perks/traits/weapons as skills/etc.) and unbalanced. That's the way it should be.

You, sir, are a misguided fool, drawn to the masses!there are exceptions to this rule like Counter-Strike
Counter-Strike is *NOT* a well done mod! It's still bugged, over-exploited, and a bug as simple as the shield bug wasn't even accounted for before they released the far too long awaited version...
Natural Selection, is a well thought-through mod, with quite a few bugs, but for a first release it rocked the socks off CS..!
Not to mention the fact that CS is a l0z3r mod because frankly it's just about who's the better with a head-shot...!

I think an inherent problem will be that combat in NWN is real time, even though both the D20 system and the Fallout system are designed to be turn based. This was probably the main problem I had with Fallout tactics. Yeah, you could do turn based, but it would take you way too long because the exiting combat button hardly ever worked even if there was no one around (that was the MAIN problem i had, there were many others).
I couldn't be bothered to get past the first 10 mins of NWN because it was just so f*cking boring. A Fallout mod would never work. It just wouldn't fit in. Counter-Strike is just for bald gun fanatics that wear army clothes and require games to have the exact muzzle flashes for each of the weapons in order for them to be playable. I still play it occasionally to knife hostages in the eyes though. I have 12 cats.
