Exclusive Shots From The Fall
<strong>[Game -> Update]</strong>
<html><body><P><B>Carsten Stehse</B> of <B>Silver Style</B> was kind enough to send me a few exclusive shots from their current project, <A HREF=http://www.the-fall.com/ target=_blank>The Fall – Last Days of Gaia</A>. I’ll see about putting together the game’s own section later, but for now onto the goods:</P><blockquote><center><A HREF=/thefall/images/the_fall_shot_ext_01_duckandcover.jpg target=_blank><img src=/thefall/images/small/fall1small.jpg></A> <A HREF=/thefall/images/the_fall_shot_ext_06_duckandcover.jpg target=_blank><img src=/thefall/images/small/fall2small.jpg></A> <A HREF=/thefall/images/the_fall_shot_ext_07_duckandcover.jpg target=_blank><img src=/thefall/images/small/fall3small.jpg></A></center></blockquote></body></html>

I'm liking the looks of the game itself, but the interface appears kinda clumsy. I also really don't like the look of the edges of it, like an antialiased texure or whatever that is, a developer would probably know exactly what's going on with it, it's a pretty common thing i see in games where a texture is partially transparent and it blurs the edges? I think it looks like crap. They should leave it aliased and take care that it looks good. But, other than that it looks a+ so far!

Kreegle, you set it up? Damn, I sent a thankyou to Killzig. Anyway, you didn't have to do that for me, but thanks.Kreegle wrote:Mad Max RW wrote:game’s own section

I was thinking it looks more like The Sims...Maybe a Sims Fallout Expansion? Sweet! The Sims Online with their own semi-desolate/destroyed city landscape to talk about fun Sims stuff and the destruction of the planet. r0x!
In fact...Well...Those look like models taken directly from The Sims...Just a bit of MilkShape 3D thrown in to make different clothing/hair stuff...

Hehe, god could you imagine? I'd just stop now if that was the case.POOPERSCOOPER wrote:This game somehow reminds me of PROJECT PHEONIX.

Well anyway, if you like SoA, I'd imagine the combat will be fun, which arguably is the important element along with interactivity and story, so we'll see.
Super H :
I knew what you were saying...just interesting to use a superlative in this case. Later man.

Wow! You mean a group has shown us some screenshots to actually back-up claims that they're making about their product? That's great! You just don't get that with some companies. All you get are promises and promises but then they cramp up and they fail to deliver on the goods.
Incidentally, even Fallout Yurop has some nice stuff to show and they're just a fallout modding project. It's interesting to see how some companies and groups can show what they have to offer while others do nothing but talk about how good it is and have nothing to show for it.
I think those screenshots fit the game. They look "playable" they don't hurt my eyes and I'm not bleeding from any orifices. That's always a good thing.

Haha, sheesh, someone hearing you talk might think you were like personally offended or a great injustice has been had...I just better get on it and send you something quick already, huh! :pDarkUnderlord wrote:Wow! Hi guys!
Thought it would be a good idea to visit this forum to exchange some ideas.![smile :)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)
Thanks for the feedback regarding the shots! For those who compare them to FPS games: You are able to zoom the camera 36 out of the scene in The Fall. This gives you a very good overview, especially in battles, where dozens of enemies are around the party. You also can look hundrets of meters from that perspective.
That's the main difference to FPS games and the reason, why we can't go into the same detail if we want the game to be playable on PCs that can be paid by normal people.
Believe me, Doom3 wouldn't look that great if you could see 40 characters + an area of some hundret meters at the same time.![smile :)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)

Heh, you can though - in the leaked alpha there's a shot of the mars landscape, and it's all rendered real size. They even have a bunch of real marine models walking around for scaleCarsten Strehse wrote:Believe me, Doom3 wouldn't look that great if you could see 40 characters + an area of some hundret meters at the same time.

Still, Doom 3 is Doom 3, and this does look pretty good. I just think the interface needs some work, that's it.
