I want to watch "party monsters" apparently it's whack like acid house or something which was cool and cult beans because you got to see danny boyle sweeping the floor and spud become a rubberized baby that sucked massive tit.

and i think mad max 1 can be considered cult, it had a totally different feel from mad max 2 which everyone loved, hard to explain... i think movies become "cult" long after their time? hence cult classics? :arrow:

A cult movie is basically a movie that may or may not have a huge audience, but the audience it has is hardcore - quote wars, Internet chat rooms, viewing parties, etc. An example of this is All About Eve, which was a huge hit and won all top 5 Oscars, but it's still a cult movie. Pulp Fiction is much less "cult" than it used to be, but it's still up there.

Basically, if the fanbase consists of obsessive whackjobs, it's a cult movie.

Pulp Fiction, cult? Most people I know have seen it and passed it off. Reservoir Dogs is much more cult but still isn't a true cult film.

To me, Blade Runner is an excellent cult film. It reeked of style, the writing was good, and the setting was awe-some. Yet, I haven't seen much of it in today's world. Nothing compared to Star Wars.

Alien was pretty cult for a while, until Aliens came out.

How the fuck does that prove, or even suggest that Pulp Fiction is not a cult movie? If anything, it shows that it IS a cult movie.

Of course Pulp Fiction is cult, it has a small fanatic fanbase. If most people saw it and passed it off, and there's a group of people who consitently love it, then it's cult? Summer movies for the most part get forgotten about pretty soon after they gtfo the screen... and people don't talk about how great they are 10 years after they're made, so most of them wouldn't be cult.

I remember the first Trancers, but I don't think I've seen any of the others. Or if I did they weren't very memorable. How many have they made now? Something in double figures isn't it?

Didn't the first one have a great post apoc. scene where New York is in ruins and mostly flooded? I haven't seen it since it was first released on video over here, so I might be getting confused.
