Interplay's New Target Audience

Post by Menno »

I found this pretty funny, so I figured I'd put it up. Apparently Interplay posted a new poll on their website [www.interplay.com]. Considering most of their games are Teen-Mature based, makes you wonder what the purpose of this poll is...maybe Fallout 3 will be cell-shaded with cute animals!

The Poll:

"What's your Favorite part of Halloween?"

1. Carving Pumpkins

2. Trick or Treating

3. Costume Parties

A real gaming company (mine) would have included a poll option like:
4. Giving those brats poisoned candy

I think the poll was appropriate though. I mean, it seems to me that the majority of gamers playing Teen-Mature games are obnoxious 13 year olds. On second thought, probably not. Those kids have dirtier mouths/minds than most adults.

My favorite part of Halloween is dressing up in a goofy red Brotha'hood of Steel suit and running around saying "Gonna make you my bitch!"

It's amusing that they promote nice family values in their poll, yet release a game filled with over-the-top sexuality.

The Danish version of Halloween (though they have nothing to do with eachother), rocks if you're young enough to participate, 'cause you dress up in silly seen-before-costumes and collect money instead of candy. It'll come up to six months savings, collected in one day.

Ah, those were the days...

I've dressed up for every Halloween for as long as I can remember...Dressed in drag two years ago, shaved off my goatee, put my hair in pigtails, and coated myself in whore-makeup...Some redneck asked for my phone number...When I told him I was a dude, and it was Halloween, he's like "........I knew that, you OH SHIT I HEAR THE ICE CREAM TRUCK!!!!!111!1111oneone..." And he wandered off. He probably killed himself.

This year, I'm shaving my head to the scalp, painting myself white, and going as Uncle Fester...My girlfriend is putting on a baldie-cap, painting herself white, and going as Dementia (Fester's woman after Debbie tried to kill him).

Friend's having a big party this year...Gonna get super drunk, shit in a pumpkin, and leave it on someone's doorstep.

We don't really celebrate halloween either. We have a pumpkin though? Halloween in england basically consists of buying a deformed vegetable and carving a smiley face into it and teenagers asking for money because one of them is wearing a mask? SCARY!

But there's some good movies on next week, so it's not too bad.

Here it's also an entirely different holiday, in an entirely different season. But there's also the pumpkins (as Forty-six & Two said) and horror movies, and some people have even begun going door to door on that day as well...

Perhaps a bit Americanized, or maybe people just saw a way to get more candy//money?

The good thing about having to put up with this trick or treat crap we've imported from the US is that defending one's castle from the peasants with boiling oil is still legal.

I never celebrated Halloween, and I'm too old now. I never get any trick or treaters, because I have a fence and a dog. I like cheap candy right after Halloween is over.
I'm so sad that I never got to get free candy. I think I'll put razors and poison in those damn kid's candy.

Uh, we kind of have a different holiday where we dress up in costumes. It's just not scary-oriented.
