Matrix: Revolutions SPOILERS RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DEATH
Alright, so you knew this topic was pretty much inevitable.
What'd you think?
Now, before you all start bitching about how it was a "huge letdown" keep in mind that the Wachowski brothers had a lot to live up to and that you can't put your expectations too high. I mean, sure, it was a bit of a letdown, but really I thought it was a very good, clear ending to the convulted and confusing plot that Reloaded created. It had all the questions answered, albeit in the basic, raw way as the Star Wars trilogy did (which was weird, considering you had to invest so much of your brain power into figuring out the second one). I certainly expected a LOT more, but I'm not going to cry about it. It was a straightforward, ass-kick of a movie with probably the best battle scenes you'll ever see for a decade or so.
Still doesn't top the first one, but so what? Sequels rarely do.
Spoiler warning added to topic. I mean it. I'll cut you. -Spazmo

I enjoyed it actually, though I wish they showed more of Ghost. I thought he kicked ass in the game, so I was hoping he'de have more then just driving in a nice white suit like in the second movie. Atleast he said like two lines this time around. Other then that gripe the movie was great in my opinion.
My question for this; supposibly the next game ((A MMORPG...yay)) will take place after the third movie, but ugh if the ending holds....what is there to do? Even so, how would any of the stuff like "bullet" time work? Ofcourse, if you think about it, a MMORPG is the Wachoski's ticket into early retirement, because if the game continues to run for say......5 years, with even a fraction of Everquests fanbase, they'll be filthy rich.

I was supposed to see it today, but someone had to get sick so I hod no ride. To me it seems that the Matrix is supposed to be one of those movies with little plot and a lot of fighting, you can't have the Matrix without hardcore special effects and ass kicking, it just doesn't work.

Actually, the first one has a perfect balance between plot and fighting, which is why it's still the best one. The newest ones are just sensory overload 9000.
Yeah, and I agree with Wolfman. Wanted more expansion on the new characters but didn't get much.
Also, they could already retire off the money they made off of the first one.
I really wanted to see everyone being unplugged and the Matrix falling apart from the inside and the outside. I also wanted too see the Zionites coming to the surface. I was waiting for that and it didn't happen. All you got was a lame little sunset with a stupid Indian girl and a wannabe Oracle. Hell, the Architecht didn't even do anything buy stop by and say "Hello" and then go back to his job doing KFC commercials...

the matrix wasn't a trilogy til the first one made 100 million dollars. having said that all that's left to say is this:
matrix1 > everything
matrix2 < matrix3 < matrix1
matrix1 > everything
matrix2 < matrix3 < matrix1

Atleast Seraphim (Collin Chou) was there. He also did more then just fight Neo this time. I would have payed double for a 5 minute fight scene between him and Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith) which you know had to occur. Ofcourse I would have liked the film to show more of Anthony Wong (Ghost). Apperantly he can't find work in Hong Kong (He's known as a "bad boy" apperantly for not enjoying mainstream hong kong films. He was in "Hard Boiled" as a gangster apperantly and didn't enjoy the role.)
Just checking it out, apperantly the critics didn't like it. Though theres no Ebert review, so I don't trust those other guys. One of these guys is detracting the movie because the oracle smokes...constructive criticism is dead. Another complained that there wasn't enough action......apperantly he missed the whole machine invasion of the Zion or something.
PS. you may want to add "Spoilers" in the title now that you said the ending which I tried to avoid saying in my post.

Against my better judgement, I went into a triple feature last night to fresh up my knowledge. Maybe its because I already spent five hours in that cinema and suffered from acute sensory overload, but the invasion of Zion just gave me a headache. A real big one. It was just too much: If you show everything, the audience is not able to see anything. Ah yes, and
SPOILER
Trinity's death speech made my nose bleed:
"Ah'm going ter die now!"
"Naw you ain't"
"Sure do!"
"Naw you ain't"
and so on ad infinitum ad nauseam.
This was not a bad movie. But (via direct comparison) the first part was the best by far. The Wachowskis should it have let at that...

More interesting than the first imo.
The Matrix had the element of surprise.
Other than that, it was generally good.
SPOILERS.
(If you're reading this topic without having seen the movie, then you damn well deserve to have everything revealed.)

PRO's:
The APU scenes are fucking brilliant and beautiful!
Nothing like exo-mechs with dual bullet-blasters to liven up a movie!
"The Hammer" Ride. Nice flying, even though she has a fat ass.
Generally, much better effects, as in thanks for not putting plastic skin on people this time!
Plot revived somewhat, yay.
CON'S/Letdowns:
Just about every hth and gun scene.
The club-shoot-out was pathetic.
The hth fight with smith in the end was boring, despite the nice rain-blasting effects.
WAY TO DAMN MUCH sappy, looong, cliché, etc, vica vi, concordingly yadda yadda bullshit love-scenes. To hell with them!
Sentinel stupidity-function-mode activated.
Fly around and do nothing while a few make some suicide attempts. They could've drowned every single APU in a matter of seconds.
Sight-of-the-soul "ability"/magic that neo suddenly possesses, not to mention his sudden power to detonate and kill machines/sentinels.
(A lot of theories running about a matrix-in-a-matrix, but no definate answer to his ability.)
little indian/paki girl suger coating the movie...
Probably the character I wanted dead the most, except for Trinity.
Wanted more info on Seraph.. =/
Seraph, as far as I know, means angel, and somebody mentions that he's lost his wings.
More info on this dude pls!!!!!
Woman-rocket launcher squad, seeming to do all the work with destroying the drills.
Mediocre ending.
But still better than nr. 1

I think the movie would have been a lot better if Morpheus actually had died. Come to think of it, only one "main" character actually bought the farm. They could have killed off Niobe at least, fuck she was annoying. That whole "Some things never change" catchprase bullshit was deintely too painfully stupid for my liking.
I have to agree on the whole Trinity death scene thing though, it went for way too bloody long. I counted at least five or six people in the theatre yelling out "Just fucking die already" or similar, and I can't help but agree.
I too saw this movie at 1AM in the morning, and I can definitely say that I won't be doing that again for as long as I remember how shite this film was.

It sucked testicles. The action scenes were boring, and unimaginative (why do we mount EMP only on our ships and not float low yeild mines around?)
The ending was so bloody rediculious also. Neo gets hooked up to jumper leads to save the day.
Also what Smiley generally found bad with the movie I also did.
