Good defrag software

Post by Jeff »

ok, my HD is really fucked up. it corrupts almost everything I download, like that ToEE patch... I tried running windows' defrag a month ago or so, and after about 6 hours it was at 4%. And that was only the fucking D: drive, 1/3th of my total HD space. So does anyone know any decent defrag programs? Or should I just go kashluk on my hd's ass?

Why is defrag so slow? What's the fastest one out there?

Defrags go faster if you do them often.

Gimp Mask-

Try PerfectDisk at http://www.raxco.com/
Fill out the short form(you can input highly bogus info, they even tell you to) and select your OS version.

Good luck.

Yeah, any change to the disk - even disk reads - cause defrag to have to restart the disk. If you have :

Screen Savers
Antivirus
Spyware
Virii

or

Any Other Program

running, defrag WILL NOT work all that well, as you seem to have found out.

The one thing that pisses me off most is that defrag will always leave a couple non-contiguous files.... fix the damned drive don't leave part undone you crap huffer!
