There is some good rap.
Unpopular rappers tend to be better than popular ones.

French rappers make me giggle. There's this show up here in Canada called French Kiss, which highlights music vids from - duh - France. There was this one B.I.G. lookalike on today, and it was funny. Unintenionally, of course, which is the best kind.

Sub, commercial and popular french rappers are as bad as all others.
If you are interested go try some Shurik'n. He's got a couple of good songs. But it sure is better if you understand what he says.

Btw, to whoever talked about Autechre : I just listened to some and it's awesome. Sounds a bit like Kraftwerk but more modern.

Tool has a lot of good songs too.

BUT I have to say : David Bowie is the all-time music GOD.

Add Freeman, Starflam and AIM and you' ve got the most decent french hip-hop around. Well, as far as hip-hop gets decent.

Why were his leotards so tight in that movie? It was like they were making an effort to accentuate his monster box. Some of Bowie's songs aren't too bad, though like The Ramones I can't listen to more than two or three songs at a time before having to switch to something else.

Some of their songs are ok, but they really aren't tremendous musicians on the whole.

Now DEVO, that's another story. I've been listening to them a lot lately - since i posted before - and I appreciate their songs so much more than when I used to listen to them as a kid. I loved them then, but I love them even more now.

Not in my neighborhood. Around here the white kids have even worst taste in rap than the black kids--probably because they wish they were black. Fucking wiggers. Anyways, so the thread doesn't derail too bad, I think OutKast has some good songs as does Busta Rhymes.
