My dad worked for a spell at Microsoft. Someone that worked on the OSs told him not to buy anything 1st edition from them. Wait till they fix all the bugs with 2nd edition.

My ME crashes all the freaking time. CRASH CRASH CRASH.
I heard that you should go for NT if you want stability.

How is WinXP big brother? I mean, I hadn't noticed any computer kiddie porn dogs getting busted because Microsoft was looking over thier back, unless they keep the Big Brother bit secret. But if they keep the fact that they are watching you secret, how do all of you know?

Ninety-Eight.

PROS - Light, simple and easy to use.
CONS - Servpack downloads, bad support for the latest software

You know, Linux really is a hacker's OS. If someone uses Linux they must either be a hacker or a wannabe.

It's actually easier to play old games with win2000, because there are more applications and tutorials for doing it in 2000 than in 98.

I spent ages finding info about playing old DOS games on 98 but only came up with instructions to play them on Win NT/2000.

I always thought it was easier to play older games on 98 because its DOS based to begin with.

98 SE was prolly the best OS Microsoft ever produced, but it's getting out-dated fast. My slower PC runs on it, because it can, and it does so fine, but...

This comp I'm on right now, runs on Windows XP Pro, and beautifully so. Great OS. Maybe a bad gamers-OS, dunno, I'm not a gamer.

Iexploder just decided to turn around and fuck itself up the ass, though, and now it won't load pages properly, unless you give it 15 minutes. So I used Netscrap to download Mozilla, which runs fine. Still leaves me to wonder what's up, though....

Well to play UUW on Win98 I had to download a shitload of patches and edit system files. If I had had Win2000 all I'd had to do was to download one utility that would've taken care of everything.

And yes, that seems pretty weird concidering NT-based operating systems are not built on DOS (or at least not entirely?).

Kdood anyone who knows more about computers than it's a box with flashy lights is a hardcore hacker. Especially when they download 1337 hax0r programs like Bonzibuddy and Comet cursor. When they start getting into things like sub7, they can take down governments.
