It takes a lot of creativity, and a lot of friends who're willing to help with it. I only ever had one who was interested, so although I've got a bunch of roleplaying stuff I never got into it. Bleh D:

Only nerds play with pen and paper.
I was joking, dood.

At least over here, only nerds play with pen and paper. You should have seen these guys. They go to the library during their lunchbreak and be nerds.
I guess it wouldn't be so bad, if there were some cool kids that played it.

In fact, in that case it would probably be a lot of fun. I know what you mean, I co-founded a chess club at my high school, and we had like 15-20 members, which is pretty good, but then some hard core nerds sort of "founded" an AD&D club and held it in the same room. That stole some of our members which sort of pissed me off, but then again the weren't any good.

Chess pawns.

Sure they can! The pencil can be used to stab people in the fucking eye, and the paper to clean their blood out. The whole "I imagine I'm not realy me" thing is somewhat lacking, though.

Nerds play AD&D. Most of the non-nerds play other stuff, just no one knows about that stuff. A lot of the other category is damn cool. Plus roleplaying is fun.

I suppose you think CRPGs are really cool, guardian? But they're all lame compared to a good pnp. So shaddup indeed.

AD&D is boring as it's all elf this and ritual that and modifier this. Too much lame fantasy and math and not enough game. Other, better designed games focus on having fun and stuff instead of calculating modifiers to hit.

Furthermore, people who go "roleplaying sux lol bcuz people who do it sux lol because dey sux lol" should maybe try it before they say ass-grabbingly stupid things about it?

There's no problem with ass grabbing--I just wish we didn't need people to say stupid things about PnP gaming before we could do it.

Fuck you and fuck your reputation. Doesn't being a close-minded slave to society's expectations hurt any intelligent person's opinion of you anyways?

Actually, no. I dislike most CRPGs, prefering only a selected few.

I secretly play fighting books when there's nothing left to read. Don't tell anyone! I like the pictures.

Angsty angry! You know how many rollplayers use that BS? The same can be applied to feces eating and being a furry. Think about that.

That's true, but it doesn't make "I'M 2 KEWL 2 DO DAT DAWG" argument any less bullshit. And the difference between shit eating/furryism and PnP gaming is that PnP gaming doesn't really involve much sexual deviance (unless you want it to, and those games don't usually sell very well...). What PnP gaming is really about is, well, playing a game. There's not much more to it than that. No need for evil cults or method acting or whatever. If you don't really want to get into your character, don't. You can play that way. It's just a fun way to explore things you wouldn't get to do otherwise. Now, granted, after a long, hard day of bulldozing shantytowns and lean-tos and beating Palestinian babies to death with a shovel, maybe you don't feel like imagining you're a secret agent or something. But for some people, it's buckets of fun.

I'm not saying PnP is as fucked up the the things mentioned above, but the same way you used to "defend" it is pretty much the same crap. All that's missing is a nickname for a person that doesn't support PnP, like "imagilacker" or "a normal", and you're in that special catagory.

I think, it's not a question of whether or not I had a tough day that makes me feel like not imagining I'm an elf, but rather, that it looks kinda stupid and boring to me. I prefer to look at it as a hobby some people have that I don't get interested in, like watching soccer, or LAN parties, or nacrophilia, that sort of thing.

No need to get over-defensive?

Conversely, no need to get over offensive. If you don't want to enjoy the hobby or even try, fine. But don't come tell us we're freaks and nerds for playing a game.

And my point about you not needing to play is that maybe the Army life is DANJEROUS enough already?
