Who says I haven't tried? If you don't want to enjoy the hobby or even try, fine.
I'm coming to tell you you're freaks and nerds for playing a game. TWICE.But don't come tell us we're freaks and nerds for playing a game.
Uh, yeah...I, um, evade grenades, and stuff. The entire time my hat's on fire, too.And my point about you not needing to play is that maybe the Army life is DANJEROUS enough already?
Hello New Jersey
Most PnPers are fucking swell guy, I'll agree with that. But some are cool, and a well-done PnP session is a very fun experience. Most people do PnP the wrong way and would rather roll dice than talk or yell at each other. The reason I like PnPing is because it's social, lighthearted, make-it-up-as-you-go-along fun, which you can't get from playing a computer game.
All my experiences playing D&D have been shitty, but I've had a lot of fun playing Call of Cthulhu, Shadowrun, Fallout PnP, etc.

suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

CRPG:
Balder' s Gate 1
Icewindale 2 (cRPG? yeah right?)
Arcanum
Fallout 1
Fallout 2
Lionheart
Temple of Elemental Evil
Used to have Might and Magic 6 or 7, but I seem to have lost it.
PnP:
Warhammer fantasy rpg
DnD 3rd edition
Alternity
Some GURPS books
Some ADnD books
FalloutPnP
Inquisitor (is actually a miniature game but I use most of the roleplaying rules only)
These days I' m actually more drawn towards wargaming than roleplaying although I tend to use some roleplay aspects into these battles, staying true to backgrounds and history of armies and battles instead of going just for vitorypoints in the case of 'historical' re-enactements. In my list of tabletop wargames: Warhammer Fantasy Battle, WH40k, Mordheim, Inquisitor.
I don' t understand what all the fuss is about with being cool and not wanting to be seen with geek roleplayers really. Do you people care so much about what other people might think of you if you were to be seen with someone 'geeky'? Does that lower your 'reputation' and/or self-esteem? That' s close-mindedness and a real puberal high-school mentality to say the least. I feel sorry for you guys, really.
