No, 5th Element was good. Bruce Willis has definitely made worse movies than that.

It's about this demonic rabbit who tells this boy about the future. Then a plane crashes into the boy's house, and the boy goes back in time.

It seemed really freaky when I saw a clip of it on TV. It gave me a kind of a "eww, keep away from me, I don't wanna watch you"-feeling.
But then again, I haven't seen the whole movie so I can't tell for sure.

Nah, Donnie Darko is a good movie. It has a brilliant storyline, but it's directing is worth crap. Seriously...
PLus those seemingly cool conversations (a la Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs) in the movie are just badly written, badly acted and annoying as hell
Donnie Darko is overrated as a motherfucker, but still worth seeing.

Yes I recommend seeing it. The directing kinda sucks, as Kharn said, but the acting is strong and the story is cool.
