Burst Cone
Burst Cone
How does the burst cone from automatic weapons work? Does a weapon with increased range have a 'tighter' burst cone? Do player stats or skills affect the burst cone?
Literacy is overated.

From what i've observed, burst attacks seem to actually make ToHit rolls against everyone in their affected area, starting with the characters closest to the middle of the cone (and not in front of other characters).
It seems that the cone is about 30 degrees to either side, or something like that... and the game engine imparts negatives for:
being behind other characters
distance
range falloff
...and also for the distance away from the center of a burst cone
The center of the burst cone is likely a straight line inbetween you and the character you're attacking, though I think this only works out to specify the center of the cone and not neccicarily who gets picked to take the brunt of the attacks.
As for who gets selected for an attack, who knows (im assuming it rolls ToHit chance for each "shot" against all the characters, imparting the neccicary penalties, starting with the highest priority characters, and if it doesn't hit anybody it misses entirely).
Because of this, the higher your range or weapon skill is, the more likely you are to hit just the guys in a straight line from you. It also seems that the lower the range or skill is, the more likely it's to hit guys in a straight line (specifically, the one guy in front... who ends up not getting hit much). So figuring out what the best conditions are to hose everybody down is abit tricky, since it's kinda in the middle of those two extremes.
