Game: Fallout or PS:T, but it's unbalanced because I've played Fallout a lot more than PS:T
TV-show: Mystery Science Theatre 3000. Or the Simpsons.
Movie: Dr. Strangelove, followed closely by both the Long Good Friday and Requiem for a Dream.
Book: Richard Adams' Watership Down (yes, I am that gay), followed by Dickens' a Tale of two Cities and Dostojewski's The Idiot (or maybe the Karamazow Brothers)

Another favorites thread, eh?
Game: Fallout. GTA Vice City is a close second.
TV show: Seinfeld!
Movie: North By Northwest, Pulp Fiction being a close second.
Book: Not so sure about this one, but probably Microserfs. Or 1984, possibly. I don't really think of books in terms of 'favorites,' because that ain't their appeal.
Food (not keeping in the style but whatever): Indian or French stuff.
Watership Down's a damn good book, Kharn, it was one of my childhood faves. As for Tale of Two Cities, I hate it, because Dickens' style is incredibly obnoxious (good book though).

suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

Watership Down still mesmerizes me, and I think the classification as a kid's book is a bit unfair, though kids can read it easily. The book's just got a special place in my heart, though, and all things considered, it is pretty original, very well-written, charming and imaginative.atoga wrote:Watership Down's a damn good book, Kharn, it was one of my childhood faves. Heh, I do prefer Dostojewski to Dickens (the race was decided when I finished both Dickens' Oliver Twist and Dostojewski's the Idiot, which are the last books I read from their hands, and the Idiot is definitely the better of the two), but I'm a big Dickens-fan nonetheless.

Oh I agree, Kharn, Watership Down isn't a kid's book, it's just that I first read it in my childhood. I've read it more recently, and I still liked it. I'd say that it's certainly mature too - and I don't mean that lame "Harry Potter: The Later Years" type of mature.

Pc Game: Fallout, Jagged Alliance 2
Console Game: Castlevania - Symphony of the Night , Armored Core
TV Series - Law & Order, Early X-Files, Seinfeld
Movie - Honest Toss Up between Aliens, Traffic, and The 7 Samurai (Although I have yet to see some of Kurosawa's other more acclaimed works)
Book - Fight Club (I liked the book better then the movie), Farewell to Arms, Go Rin no Sho, Art of War.
Kharn - I liked Watership Down alot actually. I watched the animation alot when I was little and so I read the book and thought it was equally as rewarding.

yes i played the game. it was pretty terrible if i remember correctly.Franz_Schubert wrote:And Mandalorian, have you ever played the game Betrayal at Krondor, since you read the books?
why is it that people consider pulp fiction one of their favorites. its a good movie and all but after you watch it 2 or 3 times you get tired of the whole story and wish all the characters would be burned alive or over-run by undead samarai legions.

Game: Fallout or Vice City, it depends on what I feel like killing.
Show: I'd say Simpsons, it's good for a laugh usually.
Movie: Equilibrium, Full Metal Jacket, Apocolypse Now, Dr. Strangelove, Blazing Saddles, Mad Max, stuff like that.
Book: The Dune series, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Jurasic Park, Survivor (written by the guy that wrote Fight Club, haven't read that one yet though, maybe I should?)

Betrayal at Krondor was a great RPG with a great story. Plus, it's free, though a bit buggy (but we're all used to that right?). The sequel Return to Krondor sucked big time. And about Pulp Fiction, I've seen it about five times or so, and each time I watch it I love it even more, I don't know why. I love the characters and the dialogue, and the stories themselves are cool. I'm sure someone else could explain why it's so great better than I can.
PS: Anyone else hear anything about Pulp Fiction 2? I heard QT is interested in a sequel.
