The internet is quite Christian though, and there's far more bullshit Christian propaganda (often on the REALLY ridiculous side) than genuine Christian goodwill, sadly. The internet is largely an American invention, so it goes without saying that Christianity's going to be the religion with the most access to it.

the universe has been around forever. if it ceases to exist neither will you so whats it matter?

That may be true to you, but I don't want to live my life in vain. There must be a purpose. The heck everything you do in your everyday life has a purpose, so why not life itself?

According to scientists, universe hasn't been here "forever"... It was all compressed inside a smoll dot, smaller than an atom. Then one day that dot, floating in middle of *nothing*, bursted, expanded and spread out to be the universe we know today.

So if thoughts are nothing more than electric impulses, then tell me: when does a symphony exist? When someone remembers it? When the composer remembers it? When the composer writes it down? When someone memorizes the tune? When the orchestra plays it? Does it exist at all? Or is it beyond existence?

And as I now put it: "Religion is enough of an excuse for not being a total shitbird."

can you honestly tell me how the fuck anyone could theorize when the universe was created and what it looked like before it was created. as slave would say "its all cockbarf". you cant tell me some fucker saw the universe as it was created then desided to document what it looked like. no amount of retarded calculus equations could tell you what the universe looked like before it was created and when it was created.

on that note, how do you know there wasnt a universe before this supposed universe was created?

Much of what we do serves no purpose - not to us, not to society, and certainly not to any 'greater plan' so I just don't see how you can even try to present that as a valid argument.

Religion is a fine explanation for things if you don't want to make full use of your intelligence. Assuming none of us knew what lightning was or where it came from, Religion could just as easily provide us with the answer to what it is - God's wrath!

Don't hate Christians. Much like alcoholics, they have a mental condition holding them back. Although self-afflicted in both cases, one can't blame either in today's world for turning to the solutions they did. The best thing to do is help them work through their problem so that maybe they can eventually remove the affliction from their lives.

Intelligence and religion don't necessarily need to be opposites. You can always use your reasoning to find new levels both from ordinary life and your faith.

The earlier reply I posted was meant to be an alternative; everyone in the world isn't atheist. In fact, only less than 12% of the world population don't believe in anything.

I'm not saying this is all about "majority's rules, minority's whining". But religions give, at least, a moral basis to live on. The ethics from all religions courage you to do good deeds and have a good life.

The point of my post was not to brainwash anyone of you. I simply tried to give alternative answers to those questions Mandalorian answered... It wasn't me taking my posts as the "ultimate truth", you guys handled that.

Beginning with "according to scientists..." I also tried to proove that science progresses as well and science can be wrong too. All the answers can't be found from numbers and calculations. But I still don't believe a person who has all his faith on science is any better or worse than a person who puts everything to religion.

Indeed. It has long been accepted that you cannot prove or disprove the existance of God through reason. Intelligence won't turn someone atheist, and to assume that all religious people are stupid is narrow-minded and bigoted.
