Theres really no point to PS. Besides shooting people. But thats FPS for you . I still have ok fun playing it, but its turning into a bad habit, I think. Most of the time I find myself staying on to defend/attack a base instead of doing my homework.Hammer wrote:It might not have a "point" but I still enjoy it, been playing since release on the same character and I still love the damn game.
Also, I need a better graphics card, CPU and more RAM to run it properly. The way it runs now I cant hit shit in big battles, inside bases, against lasher/plasma spam etc. which kinda ticks me off, when I die because of it. Sometimes I find myself being hit by people with their back to me... but I guess thats just lag. I have a 1mbit line though, so I blame PS servers :p

lower the settings, like resolution, colour depth, viewing distance, turn off all flora and sky box, helps alot with my system.
or when in doubt get a dell.
this is what you'd need to run planetside reasonably well:
P4 1.3 ghz or Athlon XP1700+
512MB RAM, DDR helps a lot.
GeForce 3 class video card with 64mb vram
or Radeon 8000 or higher
planetside depends a lot more on RAM and Video card than it does on CPU, as long as you have atleast 1.2ghz or faster your CPU won't be the problem kthxbye

Were they on your team? Either way... hahaha, I don't play games all that much anymore, but that's fucking great if all those green names are casualties. KUDOS!

Tried that already, didn't help; aside from my Geforce 3 every part of my computer's mediocre or downright archaic. With the graphics at the minimum setting AND at 800 x 600 the game could barely break 30 fps with more than two people shooting around me.iohkus wrote:lower the settings, like resolution, colour depth, viewing distance, turn off all flora and sky box, helps alot with my system.

Well, myself an about 4 or 5 others of my WN brethren were minding our own business defending the stairwell to the CC in Igulak/Ceryshen about 20 minutes ago when a squad of "The Enclave" members decided to open fire on us with a Pounder, Striker, RocketRifle, and other weapons for absolutely no good reason at all.
Of course, we all died pretty quickly, seeing as how we were completely looking the other direction and were completely unsuspecting of the attack.
We respawned and chose not to retaliate because frankly, we weren't going to stoop to their level, nor do we care for the grief. We did however go right back to where we were guarding right by them on the stairwell. They decided not to attack again. Smart move. However, that does not excuse that completley uncalled for 1st attack.
I looked up the outfit's leaders and tried to contact them in-game, but they were not on. Nor did they have a web site listed anyway, so I made this post. The names of the attackers were:
ClownKing
RicardoMontalban
OverEasy
GeorgeTakei
If anyone from The Enclave could give an explanation for this attack on WN, it would be appreciated.
