Hmm, Spazmo, of all people, takes my side on this... Who'd have thought? Though the vote is currently at Legos: 20, K'nex: 1, so I guess he wasn't that enthusiastic about it :roll:Spazmo wrote:All kidding aside, that's the problem with Lego. It works best when you follow instructions and build their sets. I find K'nex lends itself better to FREESTYLE! constructions. If I ever get heaps of money, I'm totally gonna build a ton of shit in K'nex, like a house and stuff.
I agree with you about the freestyle stuff. For instance, I never made any of the complex creations from the manuals, because halfway into it, I'd get my own idea and warp the entire thing to fit my own inspired idea. That's what I loved about it.

A friend and I had legos so we'd combine stuff together but we never had the sets to build anything specific. I had a good imagination so that it didn't matter if the stuff I built was perfectly realistic or not. We would build armies out of the two standard pieces and even though they looked nothing like people, they became soldiers.
Legos pwn, no questions about it.

Yeah... I used to have armies of storm troopers, winter war brigades, cowboys, indians, brotherhood of steel paladins... Big massive battles. Too bad it always ended up in a fight with my little bro, because we couldn't decide who won.
Yeah, Fallout was *the thing* back then as well. Although I couldn't understand much English at the age of 10, it was still uber cool.

I prefer Lego out of the two. I never had K'nex, and I always thought they looked stupid. I remember making a lego town and making a crude stop motion movie of my Godzilla action figure ruining shit with my dad's camcorder when I was like 7. I should win some sort of Oscar for my work there, I think.
Anyone ever heard of Robotix? They're nowhere near as flexible as far as what can be made as Lego or K'nex, but any piece can have a motor attached to it. I made some badassed robots with that shiz. It's kind of like Lego Technics I think, although I never used them. All I do know is that Robotix are supposed to be expensive, and this lady my dad worked with gave me them for free, pwn.
