Trinity development

Post by PiP »

don't know if you guys know: 'Trinity' has progressed a good deal, though it's not yet featured at their site. You'll probably going to hear about this from Ausir or Kaczor pretty soon. I suppose there is going to be some sort of gallery available, 3D models at least, also some sketches.

oh come on, there's been some news on Trinity - a cRPG project. Use the search engine of the DAC forum if your search engine can't find anything.
Oh well, why shouldn't I, after all - there you go:
http://www.duckandcover.net/forums/view ... 12&start=0
http://angrenost.org/~trinity/ (in Polish)
http://vdhp.nma-fallout.com/index_eng.php (a page which you might know, in PL and ENG, may feature news on Trinity)

"newsy" is obviously an English word, but so commonly used in the Net that it got polonized and received a Polish plural marker '-y' (one of such markers)
"linki" is more interesting: it can either be treated the same way as 'newsy' - English 'link' + Polsish '-i' plural marker, or it can be treated as a genuine Polish word meaning 'small/thin ropes' (lina-rope; linka-small rope; linki-small ropes) What's so nice about this word that you get what it means by the interplay (forgive THE word) of it's meanings in both languages. Aren't ropes for linking things? (sorry for boring you to death, I'm a linguist)

I'm waiting to see something from Trinity rather than pretty concept art or lists of things to do.

you're damn right Max. and I'd like Kaczor to fix broken links to Trinity-related stuff at his VDHP.

interesting? here is more:
"link" does not come from Latin, it comes from an Old Norse word "hlekker", which meant... 'link' but also 'chain' (but I guess only when used in plural).
Another word worth metioning from this stock is Old English "hlence" - 'coat of chain mail'.

now that does make sense, but chain technology to me seems older than chain mail, Norse is probably the first ever use of the word link
