New Drawing in the Works
New Drawing in the Works
Yeah, I haven't drawn anything in a while, but I've got a new one in progress. It's all set to be a masterpiece too, first thing I haven't finished in one sitting since... a folder I drew on in 10th grade.
First step - Outline and head
http://www.geocities.com/extreme_walkin ... -demo1.txt
Second step - Shoulder
http://www.geocities.com/extreme_walkin ... -demo2.txt
Third step - Finishing torso
http://www.geocities.com/extreme_walkin ... -demo3.txt
Those are all at 25% full size, I'm doing it on an 8.5 x 11 sheet canvas, at 300 dpi... the head doesn't even fully fit on my screen at once if I have it at 100%, which is what I'm doing the actual work at. Usually I do work on drawings at 200%, but that would be absurd for something of this size.
The actual pixel resolution of the full drawing is - 3300 x 2550. Quite a jump up from my previous 1024 x 768 canvas. Working with something this large is certainly a chore... shading is TEDIOUS. So far I've got ~five hours invested in it.

Added part of the lower body. Gotta hit that last leg, and the arms, then I'll see what I want to do with it as far as coloring. Considering background too, I don't know if I want to leave it white, or maybe just shade some black around it... however that would take FOREVER to do. Maybe I could even make him a little house to hang out in. Or whatever something like that would use for a house.

They're not minute when you look at it full size. Remember that's only a quarter, want me to post a copy of a full size picture? That'll eat bandwith up like omg though, oh well.

I cropped all the extra white space still. But it's big, see? And it's really tedious to shade with a pen tip that's that small. I like the result though?

Right Right, got a pre-release version or something going now.
First, the completed "inking" -

Now, preliminary coloring -

I think it needs some more texture to the color, but lemme know what you guys think about it as it is.

yea looks very kubrick. I'd have chosen a different colour (blues and purples would look good) and the lower body has more highlights than the top but hye it's PRELIMARYY.A
It's still very good. Ozrat approves, 5 out of 5.5 lumpy bananas, killa killa has spoken.
here is my AMAZING RE-COLOUR THAT TOOK HOURS OF WORK!

Heh, thanks a lot, I'm glad you like it. His upper torso does need some more highlights, and I've got to change the blood a bit, I'm not sure I like how that looks, in a couple places.
Great recoloring Megatron, lol it really does look good. Donno about that guy in the background though, lol.
And... Merzbow is pretty interesting. That CD is probably the hardest of all his stuff that I've heard, I like some more of his stuff that's more melodic too though. It makes surprisingly good background music for playing doom, lol.
