DVD Player Software

Post by Jimmyjay86 »

I'm looking for a replacement for the trial version of Power DVD that I got with my DVD Drive. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good freeware or reasonably priced software. I want something that can play unlimited DVDs from different regions. Power DVD seemed buggy.

hmmm only used PowerDVD.
The fact alone that you got a *trial* is proof of how ppl are getting ripped... I ain't givin' a penny for a program which should be accompanied with the drive.

Trial version? How could that be? Well, anycase, I enjoy using PowerDVD and if you'd like to try it without that 30 days trial and whatever bullshit, PM me and I'll send you a link to a page with serial keys for it ;)

Well maybe it isn't the trial version , but it doesn't appear to be the full version. I want to find a good region free program, but the version of PowerDVD I use locks you into one region after several uses.

Use RegionKillers. Nice little > 1 Mb programs that create a virtual DVD region.

Anyone ever use WinDVD? I find it to be the best DVD program I've ever seen (the interface is fast and dynamic), and it can also play avi's and mpg's etc.

That happens with my full version as well but like kashluk said its pretty easy to bypass the system with regionkillers.

Yar, only it's on older version. Can the newest version play true full screen?

Hmm, 3.0 or so. Crappy sound support.

Well, so can PowerDVD, I think. I use PDVD5 XP DL. It supports DD EX and DTS ES. Never really had any problem either, but I haven't used it that much. (Used ver. 4 b4.)

PS: DVD Genie is a good regkiller:DS

True full screen? As in absolutely nothing on the screen except the movie? (I.e. no toolbars, play/pause/stop buttons, logos, etc.)

Can't you do that with most software anyway? Are you choosing the right options?

Uhhh... apparently not.

Aw hell, I'll stick to using my PS2 and the new DVD/DVD-R/CD/CD-R/CD-RW/VCD/MP3/WMA player I got for Christmas :p
