Trespasser.
The game itself was just mediocre, but that ending was an insult.
Lame Ass Game Endings
Wild you bring up Trespasser( no one I know has played it )...I loved playing it and yea, despite a crap ending, I loved just being in that world...
...but anyway...
...I just finished XIII, and the ending rocked...the game was fucking awesome begining to end, and I'll be damned that in light of me starting this thread, I come across a game that has one of the best endings I've seen in a long while. If you're into conspiracy and military stuff, this game is totally for you.

Yuck, cant believe FF fans would turn up around here. Ssst! Scram!
Ultima 6 had a good ending 'Hooray, you're the hero, er, wait. You bastard! You just killed a bunch of innocent creatures!'
System Shock 1's ending could of had a bit more, but it was still pretty good, and the game was excellent. I like the irony of it, too. You just went through hell and back in deep space, so what do you do? Go back to hacking on your PC in your dirty apartment. I liked the music too.
Fallout 1's ending was excellent, as had been said many times before.
Other than that, I rarely finish games, especially since I have this really nasty habit of getting to the very very end of a game, and then never playing it ever again. Then when I try to play it again, i'm so out of my 'groove' in the game it's impossible to play. I did that with System Shock, but then just started over and finished it within a few days.

All the endings in any fighting game suck.
"I just won the ubergreat-and-deadly intergalactic-ultraplanar fighting tournament and all I want to do now is go back home and have a nice meal... UNTIL THE NEXT TOURNAMENT"
BARF!!!
Planescape Torment had an excellent ending, and some of the Gold Box D&D games as well. I liked the fact that it let you continue the adventure.
