Heretic 2? Piece of crap, can't believe I bought that homoerotic elf shit.

"Wh, where is everyone?"
In your mother's cunt, that's what I'd like the game to write after that PETHATIC beginning. And the weapons were rotten as well, not to mention my goody-goody character.
Still, could of been worse, like Wheel Of Time. Thanks god I didn't buy that craOH WAIT, I did, fuck.

I'm 19. Where does that put me?ExtremeDrinker wrote:How old are you? If you're over 20, most likely you didn't have a PC when you were a kid because they were really expensive. If you are...Say...under 18 now, there is a good chance you started with a PC because of the prices being really fucking low.Exitium wrote:Is that some kind of idiotic rhetorical question? I didn't start out with a console and I'm sure neither did a lot of other people. To assume that everyone started with a console has absolutely no basis in reality.
When did you get your first computer?
I guess you meant Hexen, it looked pretty much like Heretic but was much better. It had this fancy loading screen with 2 skulls and bones, ahh those were the times.Kashluk wrote:Oops, sorry, Heretic 2 seems to be a new(er) 3D-game! I meant just the plain, ol' Heretic 1 with my previous comment. The one with the pixelated 2D graphics and all that demonic shit.

Ok... I haven't had a console since SNES (dreamcast doesn't count), I play real FPS's on both consoles and PC, I'm not a moron (though I guess that's subject to opinion), and finally, I have played No One Lives Forever! Oh, and I like Halo.Spazmo wrote:Finally, I'm going to state that anyone who liked either version of Halo is someone who's been console gaming their whole life and thus has been grossly deprived of proper FPSes or just a fucking moron who has never played No One Lives Forever and its sequel.
So you're equation sucks!

Actually, no, because Morrowind sucks, too. I'd even say it sucks more than Halo because at least Halo is fun when played co-op on an Xbox. Besides that, NOLF being better does mean Halo sucks because if it's possible to make games as good as NOLF and yet they're still making mediocre crap like Halo, that means nobody is making actual good FPSs and that just sucks. Kind of like Halo and Morrowind, really.Franz_Schubert wrote:Just because NOLF is better doesn't mean Halo sucks. It's like the difference between Fallout and Morrowind. Fallout is way better, but Morrowind is still a fun game, savvy?
I had an old Sega Genesis back when I was about 6 years old, but I had maybe three games for it and I never really played it much.
I got a PC only in 1998-1999 (I'm a noob) and I played a shitload of games on it back then... and consequently, I'm a gamer. So while I may technically have console roots, if you want to call it that, console games didn't really interest me and I don't have any fond memories of them.

suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.
I think Morrowind was one of the biggest disappointments I've ever experienced when it came to anticipating a game. Daggerfall was wonderful. A blend of doom style action and roleplaying. With tons of open area to explore and characters to interact with. It was really ahead of it's time in terms of design.
Flash forward a year or two, Morrowind is announced, Daggerfall community rejoices. Screenshots and concept art trickle from various sources and many anticipate. Then mysteriously it drops off the media radar for a bit and comes back and it's announced that it's going to be released sometime in 01. I buy the game hoping it's going to be excellent. I go home and it barely runs on like the third fastest computer you could get at the time which was a P4 1.8ghz with a geforce 3 ti500.
I also noticed something odd on the box. Bethesda's old trademark typeset was changed as well as "A Zenimax company" beside the name. Here's my theory:
-Bethesda due to development window being pushed back so far starts losing money because they aren't releasing any games, gets acquired by "ZeniEvil".
-ZeniEvil's corporate goons say "Ok we're going to take this title out of stagnated development and change the focus, we need to recoup losses on this so lets remove EVERYTHING that made the game fun and put it on the X-box."
It was so horribly obvious that the X-box version was the focal point of development which just fucking slays me. Which would explain why it wouldn't run on my pc and the fact that the focus had shifted from immersive and diverse gameplay options to pretty pictures and a pathetically small island that sent your framerate into the basement. So basically Zenimax sells out what could be potentially a great RPG because the console playing demographic is more shallow and spends more money.
It's disgusting really.
Morrowind was an elaborate tech demo for the Xbox. That's all it was. I had a chance to play it on a 3.2ghz hyperthreaded machine with a geforce fx and even then I could only acceptably run it in 1024x768 which is pretty sick since the game's been out for two years and considering the unadulterated power of a system like that. The game was nothing like it's predecessor.

Morrowind ran fine on my Duron 800 mhz with a V5. It was still a huge disappointment, and I think DX2 was exactly the same.
For Halo, it was fun playing it in co-op with friends when it came out. We had fun with it for a week. That sum it up pretty much, fun game, but it's short and there is near to nothing replayability. Overated.
So was HL.
