Yeah, it's definately Hitchcock's best... none of that Vertigo crap, thanks.taltiren wrote:Hey atoga, i just watched North by Northwest, it was excellent.
Top film list
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.
Oh no, ATI can't be good because it's Canadian! :0
Anyway, you both suck, as does anybody who really likes starwars (they're good films - at least the first three are - but hey, don't get so worked up about them. I can imagine you fans are doing the same thing to Starwars as our friend Chucky Cuevas is doing to Fallout.)

I think he's talking about the real Ocean's 11, with Frank Sinatra, James Dean, and some others.Kharn wrote:1. No. Not by me, at least (see #4)Gimp Mask wrote:Do I get flamed if my list doesn't please you?
1. Ocean's Eleven
2. Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels
3. Snatch
2. You're doing that on purpose.
3. Snatch and Lock Stock are ok.
4. This is DaC, you can get flamed for breathing. (see #1)
Vertigo ruled. Shut up.Yeah, it's definately Hitchcock's best... none of that Vertigo crap, thanks.
Of course, my opinion may be swayed by the fact that I didn't understand a single minute of North By Northwest. I was young when I first saw it, though - I should watch it again.
My personal favorite Hitchcock is Notorious, followed by Vertigo.

With "real" you mean original? The remake is not less real for being a remakeFranz_Schubert wrote:I think he's talking about the real Ocean's 11, with Frank Sinatra, James Dean, and some others.
That said, the original is a lot better than the remake, but not one of my favourites either. I love the Rat Pack, like any sane man with any sense of style should, but apart from that...

Vertigo's good, but it's not the masterpiece everybody says it is. It's a fairly boring psychological drama, so what - it's overrated in the same way Citizen Kane is. North by Northwest, on the other hand, is probably the best movie there is that simply tries to tell a story. It's one of the best thrillers ever, and it trumps Vertigo & Hitchcock's other stuff for that reason.Subhuman wrote:Vertigo ruled. Shut up.

But American History X is worse. Even outside of the prison scenes that movie is still a gay fantasy. Not as bad as Return of the King, which had the notiorious homoerotic "hobbits hopping on bed with gay Gandalf watching"-scene, but still pretty gay
And American History X has some pretty bad acting. Really.

I'm willing to compromise my standards in acting for a film that features a good curb stomp.
Movies:
Krull
Empire Records
Poolhall Junkies
The Road Warrior (duh)
Anything Kevin Smith made
Clockwork Orange
Dawn of the Dead
Broken Hearts Club (shut up)
The Thing
Logans Run (in a way)
More to come later, when I think of them.

didn't look censored, who knows...
oh yeah, if you want something that was too hardcore to even be censored watch Scum... it was supposed to have been released as a documentary on BBC in the 80s but it was censored and canned because it was too hardcore, true and critical of the gov'ts handling of juvenile justice... so the creators decided to rerelease it as an independant movie
