Cell phones
Cell phones
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but I'll try anyways.
I pretty much got nothing but cash for Christmas, so I'm looking to spend it on a cell phone, preferably one that is between $100-$120. Any advice?

Don't know where you live or what type of coverage is available. Are you looking for one of those new fangled color jobs that you can play Diablo on or just a fone?
Most places offer some sort of mail in rebate depending on the type of phone. Make sure to ask. I basically got my phone and my wife's for free. If I had gone to one of those new color vidphones, with the rebate it would have been about 100$, but you had to shell out twice that much up front.
My rebates took about 30 days to process, they told me up to three months.

I suggest you check with any sort of local rating site or service in your area: Consumer Reports and the like.
I had mid-to-lousy experienses with T-mobile and Cingular. I think that figuring out your carrier like Strap and MeatPoP is a crusial task.
As far as the hardware goes, I recomend you stay away from Ericson products...not a happy customer. However I hear that the newer Sony-Ericson phones are actually cool. Steve seems happy with his Motorola.

Well, I'm not looking for a phone that takes pictures or that kind of sort, but I would like it to play simple games like old school tetris, snake etc. I'm trying to find Minute cards that add minutes to a plan, I'm not looking to get into a big contract with a company until I get a job. Which is what I want to use this phone for. My house only had one phone line and my brother uses the internet WAY too much, so I got the idea that I would get a cell phone and use the number for companies like Best Buy and Circuit City can call me to follow up on a Resume.
So, thanks for all the replies people.

The only place where smart people go check for phones is here: http://www.nokia.com
I suggest you'd go after the 3200-model. Good all around phone, available for ~99$.
