Warn people of their impending mistake HERE. Just write a review saying how you got this game with high expectations, but it turned out to be boring, bland etc.

EDIT: Here's my review:

Wow. There's not really any words to describe this game. I got it thinking it would be cool since I love the post-apocalyptic genre, but the game turned out to be really bad. The plot was ridiculous, and all the quests were boring, repetitive things like "find the key and bring it back to me".

The fighting was probably the worst part of the game, which is pathetic, since the fighting plays the biggest role in the game. You just run around with your fingers mashing the auto-aim button and the fire button. There's no strategy or skill involved, it was just boring. The graphics suck also, compared to most X-Box games.

This game is a disgrace, do yourself a favor and don't rent or buy it.

Do they screen the reviews first before they put them up? Anyway, here's what I wrote:
1 Star - Brings Nothing New To The Table Except Bare Crumbs

Very poor game. It seems as if this is a Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance clone, except remove the Dungeons and Dragons and insert this whacky post-apocalyptic universe in its place. The dialogue is repetitive and weak; usually involving more F-bombs than substance. The sex they advertise this game has is non-existent; it's just some black screen. Nice marketing trick to sucker in young kids right? The action is dull, the graphics are far below PS2-quality, and the plot [if you wish to call it that] is non-existent. There's so many better Xbox games out there worth the money.

I'm not sure exactly what they do, but they have this to say about lag:
amazon.com wrote:Your reviews will be posted within five to seven business days.
So you're lobbing timebombs, folks.

No timebombs...

And you did post your 1-star review, right Bounce?

I'm workin' on it. I'm workin' on it!!!

I was distracted w/the issue of large caliber MGs vs. ground troops.

Will edit this post as soon as a bust my amazon.com reviewer's cherry.

Edit Here's my review:
review wrote:Perfect...for Lab Rats

Reviewer: A gamer from Tucson, AZ United States

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel is only a "perfect" game in the sense that it's perfect for lab rats that are accustomed to running through mazes. The game play is boring and repetitious with levels/maps set up like mazes for the player to run through in bland and uninteresting "Fed-Ex" quests.

The graphics are lack-luster; the profanity a seeming expression of juvenile, scatological glee; the setting nothing more than BG: DA recycled with some elements of the Fallout setting stirred in to cash in on name recognition.

If anyone is thinking of buying this title based on the strength of the "Fallout" franchise I would recommend first renting this game, or (better yet) giving it a pass completely. While perhaps one shouldn't expect too much from a console game in terms of role playing it must be said that this game bears no similarity other than superficially to its RPG forebears.

All-in-all a grave disappointment.

Reviewer: Robert Davelsen from Irvine, CA

last night i ran down to the store and bought a mega-pack of kleenexes in anticipation of this game. when i got it in the mail i was so excited i started unwrapping two things! (the box art is very wellmade, to say the least)

but then i started playing it. it was mazes and mazes, and the fighting was kinda boring -- just running around with auto aiming button on -- so boring that one of my lower extremities softened quite a bit. the fellas that made this game promised it would be better than sex (i havent ever had any, i wouldnt know) but it's not! false advertising?

only buy this game if you like boring fluff.

(I figured I'd do one from the perspective of the intended audience)

I'm pretty absolutely sure that they do not because people always write reviews for games before they come out. Thats why I generally do not trust amazon reviews because most are just BS and aren't helpful at all.

Yes they screen the reviews. Just so you guys know.

Now go write a review! And don't forget to give it the number of stars it deserves.

Notice that the reviews are generally being labelled as unhelpful. I suppose these kids only consider raving reviews to be helpful...

I wonder if Slave_Master's review got canned.

It shouldn't have. Loaded with sexual innuendo as it is, it was pretty much G-Rated.

I wouldn't feel right about posting a review unless I played the game first. Although it sounds like I would rather just pass on it than rent it.

Bioware sucks anyway. The only thing they've made that I liked any so far is the Star Wars: KOTOR for x-box. But that game was too short and it made my x-box crash too much. My favorite part was the droid you get on tatooine, and the lightsabre combat. And the excellent voice acting.

All eye candy and no substance though. That's a sentence that sums up bioware nicely.

While you're at it, you may as well write some bad reviews for Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Neverwinter Nights, and anything else Bioware has made.

I anticipated the Star Wars: KOTOR game for at least a year, and then I realized that I got Bioware conufsed with Black Isle Studios. Imagine my dissappointment when I found out that the professionals weren't doing it.

Either that or the people that have been awaiting this game have all bought it and the stream is petering out. That's what I expected to happen, and quite a few others, too.

I wonder if this thing will end up tanking as badly as RLH did.

I told you so!

Maybe amazon.com hasn't caught on to the fact that "G-Rated" means that it should be loaded w/sexual innuendo and double entendres to keep the parents entertained?

Nope. Got nothing 'gainst them. They aren't the reason I'm not going to be playing FO3 this year.

I don't see what the trouble is. They all look alike.

RLH (Just like System Shock 2! Except shit!) sold twenty-three thousand copies, right? I think FOBOS'll sell about that much. Maybe up to forty, but I doubt it.

Well, uh, I guess not. Family entertainment does mean that it should also be entertaining for the older members of the family, does it not?

Nope. Got nothing 'gainst them. They aren't the reason I'm not going to be playing FO3 this year.
I really could care less about that. FO3 would have probably been crap, and I'd rather see an original RPG anyway.

You know, the most ironic things about this whole deal w/FO:PoS is that IPLY was essentially throwing all its eggs into one basket to save the company...and all they could come up w/was some half-assed shovel-ware... :?
Slave_Master wrote:Family entertainment does mean that it should also be entertaining for the older members of the family, does it not?
Absolutely not, sir! They should be content to dampen their sensibilities for 1-1/2 hours and look w/bug-eyed joy at the cutsie shit on screen. :hmph!:
Slave_Master wrote:I really could care less about that. FO3 would have probably been crap, and I'd rather see an original RPG anyway.
Maybe, maybe not. I think in the end I'm w/Killzig in that some closure would have been nice. I think the odds of a great FO3 were drastically reduced once the MCA left, but JES might have pulled it off. After that...well, it was a case of "the rats by their very instinct have quit the ship," which was sinking oh so quickly...

A new "original" RPG would be nice. I wonder if the rumors are true that Troika will be doing a Gamma World RPG. I hope not, I'd rather see them not be constrained by WotC, not to mention that the last incarnation of Gamma World was some Alternity crap that completely altered the setting.
