well, yeah, but im gonna take Max's side on this one... where do they get off talking about getting the license, much less having enough money to pay Perlman and Dorn to do voiceovers?
It looks like it could have potential, but all im seeing is Quake 2, or System Shock 2, quality of graphics so far. Honestly, best of luck to them, i hope its a good game. I think its a bit irresponsible to talk out of their asses like that. If there is some foundation to it, back it up!

Grimnar is right, these are the stock UT2003 textures and static meshes that come bundled with UnrealEd3.0 . We have not applied any of our own textures yet, this alpha was not a texture pass it was a geometry pass. The only reason it is textured and has static meshes applied is to make it is so that it wont be a very boring level to play in after working in it, if the person chose to do this. Besides a level with plain solid textures is deceptive to the eye as opposed to one that has some sort of texture, rooms seem much more cramped with textures applied.
Just so you understand the workflow...
Geometry pass, this is the level complete as far as basic BSP
Texture pass, this is the geometry with all textures applied.
Object pass, this is the level with textures and static meshes in place.
Bot pass, this is the level with the AI botpathing complete
Rigging pass, this is the level complete including all movers in place and operating.
Game pass, this is the level complete and ported into the game engine.
As stated above, this level section was merely a geometry pass, it only had the textures applied because frankly my Beta Testers are not employees, they are volunteers, and for that I put in the effort to make the level playable as a DM in UT2003. It was a thank you for your help sort of thing. If you are really curious about how and why and when about this game, come be a Beta Tester. We have received 10 new applications just today.

What I am approaching Interplay about is the license to the Fallout name. I believe Micro Forte did this for their Fallout Tactics release. Everyone is speculating about who should get the license, I figured it was about time someone knew just exactly what that entails. I am not trying to finish Fallout3. My game is a completely seperate entity. Since it is set fully within Fallout canon, and it does not take place in the timeline of any of their current or future releases (technically it is set in the past, since it takes place just after Fallout.), it could stand alone as a seperate Fallout title. I am finding out how much the use of the name Fallout and it's associated trademarks cost. I know how much it costs to license the Unreal engine for a release that technically is competition for Unreal. That is a set amount.Mr. Teatime wrote:Could you elaborate on the possibility of it being an official fallout game, of getting ron pearlman etc? the thought of interplay getting involved makes me feel sickly.... and also on whether you have a predicted release date?

And we'd love to have ya PiP! Well if you get any mess busy over the course of the year, hop right in there. Of course no one can get there right at this second because the entire domain is down at the moment. This is only temporary and should (fingers crossed) be taken care of in the next day or two. I have been reassured it wasn't our site who took them down. But what we will get out of this, is the domain will now be a a hotter server capable of handling the traffic. Sorry guys, not my fault, and at the absolute worst time. I hope the people who needed to see the site, went there yesterday while it was up... ah the vaguaries of doing business via the internet.PiP wrote:guess whyMeatPoPsicKle wrote: come be a Beta Tester. (sorry I don't have the time to be a tester myself, though I'd (almost) die to be)

It isn't totally impossible. Vivendi or whoever "hired" these guys who were making a Tribes UT2k3 mod. It's now a full fledged game and will be released with Tribes: Vengeance. The catch is they aren't getting a dime and it will never be available online for free.
This is all from a couple months ago. I haven't followed them since.
