Hellboy!
[Community -> Update]
Being big fans of Fallout most of us here at DAC are, quite naturally, fans of Ron Perlman. His latest movie, HELLBOY has been previewed over at CHUD.com. Here's a snip...

I have to admit, there was always that voice in the back of my head telling me that Hellboy could fucking suck and I'd have to be writing about it with double-speak, trying not to sound too "down" while covering a movie that I really couldn't get behind. During one emotional sequence in Hellboy, where I really felt the drama of the pic - not just the high from the constant action - I knew I was sold. This is a hell of a movie - one that trumps all of last year's comic book movies (except one - I'd say Hellboy is as well-made as American Splendor) and you'd better damn believe I'll be there Friday night on April 2nd with a bunch of buddies to see this fucker again on the big screen.

reading the preview it looks like its going to be a decent flick. Guillermo Del Toro is becoming a very good film maker (see, the devil's backbone) ... He's also working on a lovecraft project after hellboy call at the mountains of madness which should start production this spring.
The answer to your first question is shaddup.

I wonder how he's going to make monsters that upon viewing them make you insane onto film? OMG
And mountains of madness is based in the cthulhu universe? I think it's set in antartica in the 1930s to find SPOOKY FOSSILS.
I think the people who are making the lovecraft game have announced a sequel set at the mountains of madness too.

I think most of Lovecraft's stuff is based in the Cthulhu universe. Mountains of Madness would be cool... I don't really see how it would be possible to do the story of Cthulhu itself since it's pretty inter-dimentional, and how exactly are you going to film acute angles that are greater than 90 degrees? Just like Megatron said, same with the monsters that make you go insane upon sight. It'd be like The Ring or something, people in the movie would go nuts but people in the audience would just laugh and be like "oh, look, shouldn't i be going insane now that i saw the monster? How clever i am."

They'd probably end up just having cgi monsters too? If they built 80ft tall monsters though, that'd be cool.
I'm guessing it's going to be like The Thing mixed Sleepy Hollow and bizarro camera-work. I guess it could be cool and the director's good, but I don't know if he'd be able to keep faithful too BIZARRO LAND. Perhaps he could do a live-action version of some other book? Any fairy-tale could probably work, but Tim Burton could probably do better. Mabye mix 2 Fast 2 Furious with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? Mabye re-make Mary Poppins in modern-day London?
Bizarro land indeed.
They should stop remaking movies and books though. Some things would be good, but only if it's a skilled director. Otherwise it's some guy whose done about 3 music videos then get's to make some really shitty comic-book movie.
From the new Catwoman movie.

Totally with CloudNine here. That's one of the worst costume designs ever, I mean come on, how much more blatantly can they say "THIS MOVIE IS ABOUT THE T&A! IF YOU WANT A GOOD PLOT AND QUALITY ACTING GO ELSEWHERE!" without tattooing it on her nipples?
off topic? OMG YOU'VE BEEN CENSORED... yet you're still posting. MYSTARY!!!!

Your idols speak so much of the abyss, yet your morals only run as deep as the surface.
