They're a pretty damned stupid lot. You should never underestimate the unwillingness to engage in a thought process on the IPLY forum.

So, how many bad reviews does that make?

Tell me, how do you get a screenshot from a console game??? Ha, just found this last quote from ShadowPal2.0:
But anyone with an ounce of common sense is going to see that FOBOS has been victimised for things that have nothing at all to do with the quality of the game.
I guess I mustn't have any common sense....

Look at this douche's sig
ShadowPal2.0 wrote:Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance was released on the PlayStation(r)2 in 2001, Xbox and the Nintendo GameCube(tm) in 2002 and has sold over one million units worldwide across all three platforms

Wishing FO:BOS the same success
I think I'll rent it so I can then ask for a refund for it's shittyness.

By the way, who is this ShadowPaladin, I heard a lot about him, but what exactly did he do? Is he the old Soldier87?

IIRC, isn't the whole "BGDA sold 1 million copies" claim a misrepresentation of Interplay shipping one million copies?

Looks like I've got fans over there already! :D

EDIT:

You guys really should look at this thread. There's been a few NMAers over there defending our honor, but the pitiful ShadowPaladino has no end to his stupidity and trolling in sight yet. Just read my posts. I honestly tried to give the best effort into proving SP wrong, but yet he still somehow comes up with ways to avoid the point completely. Even after my final goodbyes he still took some potshots at me claiming I was "saving face". BUWHAHAHHAHAAHA good one.

Heck, it's already 12 pages long. Isn't it time that a few of you guys joined the fray?

The claim was 500 units shipped by Interplay about five months after it's release, but as of last year, they only sold 300+ retail copies across two platforms.

ShadowPaladin is probably the biggest idiot on the IPLY forums, and that says something considering the sheer number of idiots there. He's the guy who once argued with Gareth Davies, artist and designer on Fallout Tactics, about how Fallout Tactics mechanics actually worked - even after he found out who Gareth was.

I hardly believe that was the case! ^_^

Is that thread still available anywhere for personal inspection?

IPLY still gets the money, of course, so they shouldn't care. FOBOS is in a similar book, though honestly, I don't know how many copes were shipped, and any smart retailer would probably be a little discerning with IPLY's console titles after BGDA.

I was banned from IPLY a while back with the FOBOS mess (after like ten posts too), then re-registered with the new FOBOS forums, posted a couple comments which recieved some disappointing, badly-thought-out replies, and left that shithole for good. The fact that it's censored doesn't do it much good either.

By the way, very nice use of smilies, Shadow Paladin. That's a real testament to your intelligence right there. Judging by the thread Ozrat posted, it looks like SP is getting lost in a web of semantics (the copyright stuff) and gets lost posting irrelevant jargon. Then he gets off by posting IPLY's marketing strategies for FOBOS and cutting BIS which everyone has deduced (and IPLY later announced) already.

Finally, as for the complaining about 'biased' FOBOS reviews, suck it up. A critic is supposed to make a lot of the comparisons SP said were wrong. A critic should have no scope? Yeah, right. Critics give their opinion, that's their job. Some ass kiss, it's granted but it's a very rare thing that they'll actually change their review to the point where their review is more scathing than their original thoughts of the game. After all, what's there to gain from that?

As for judging the game for what it is, gameplay wise, most of the critics said it didn't stand too well as a straight, no jokes action title anyway. From either viewpoint, it sucks, and get over it. Fuckin' baby.

I think this is pretty funny too (courtesy Megatron):

le edit - how many of you assholes post on IPLY forums anyway? Regularly, I mean, not just once or twice when you're bored.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

On the BIS forum, remember arguing with Section8? Well, that's Gareth Davies, and I even told you who he was after I let you go on arguing with him for a page of so.
