Agreed.

DotT is one of my favorite games of old, and something I still try to play from time to time (my current computer got sounds problems so I'll pick it up once i get a new).

Just a quick note : I'm playing Broken Sword The Sleeping Dragon, and I have to say, despite some silly dialog ( not funny, just comes across awkward in translation ), and some blah animation, I like the way the 3D world looks and the way the camera can freely dolly and pan through the environments.

So you can add that to your list of games to try for those interested.

Cheers

I think some of the old Sierra games were already mentioned, but did anyone mention the Quest for Glory games yet? Those also have some character building elements in them. Its fun how you get to build up your skills in them, even if it is a bit frustrating and takes a long time sometimes. Its too bad they are so expensive now because of their popularity and rarity. $20 to $50 for number 5 on eBay. The others aren't so bad a price but I noticed the 1 to 4 anthology can cost like $50. Glad I already have it. Yeesh.

Sierra is stupid not to still make and sell it.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. " -John 3:16

Hopes. Dreams. You have to live these things. If not, they will remain prisoner within the confines of your mind for the rest of your life.

First graphic-based game I ever played on a PC that wasn't text-based was Kings Quest at my dads work in their computer lab.

I was hooked from there on out.

I'd have to say my favorites are Space Quest IV, Kings Quest V, Quest For Glory II and Police Quest III from Sierra. From LucasArts it's all about Day of the Tentacle and Monkey Island.
