How will quests be done? Will there be a way to enter caves and buildings and such to do quests? I like the game, but I can't imagine it being really playable without some sort of variation in gameplay throughout.

I guess I want to know where you're going with this game.

i imagine it could be like in EV nova, where you get missions from various places on space stations and planets (mission bbs, bar, shipyard, and so on)

Yes, the idea is that my other project is going to be implanted into "Zonetripper"(hate that name, i was drunk ok). So the missions will be given if you are in a bar in towns and overhear things like "My brother went up to that old powerstation and never came back. Its north of here. I wonder what happend". There you get the clue to walk north and a: search for the place when camping(a new button) or b: the place pops up north of the town. When entering the ol´Pstation you will walk around in it(i will reuse some of the code from Badlands - www.gobias.com/badlands - ).
Or if you meet some merchants out in the waste they can tell you /ask you to go to places and do things.

How about that?
Check out the "walkabout"-engine and see how it could look inside an "actionarea".

EV NOVA looks great!
I wish i could do some real programming.
When you do things in flash, you are kinda restricted. Its hard to do real 3d that works and such. Well, we will see how this game turns out.
