Football Blows

I'm not big on playing sports (team sports that is) but watching major league baseball and the NBA are one of my favorite things to do nowadays. The trick with being a spectator sportsman is to follow a team closely for a few months, so that you KNOW them, then you start to care about whether they win or lose, which players are on a hot streak, etc.

Anyway GIANTS ALL THE WAY IN 2004!!! And, uh... go Warriors!

No, football has to go away if it wants to meet my standards. It has this stupid culture of dumbshit proletariat Americans that sit at home wearing giant foam cheese hats eating pretzels, doing the cliche jump and yell during the touchdown.

Americans love the moneyshot. They love it when their home team kicks a field goal just as much as they love cumshots, Janet Jackson's breast being exposed, and a Boeing 747 hitting the World Trade Center.

Its funny when one neanderthal says football is the best because you can hit stuff and anybody who disagrees with him is a OH SHIT I HEAR THE ICE CREAM TRUCK!!!!!111!1111oneone, but its sad when someone feels that killing is the "greatest entertainment spectacle of all time"

Why are you arguing about the Colleseum thing? That was more of a footnote to my arguement than anything. I hate football because it's a big advertising scheme that embodies everything horrible about American culture.

People actually watch the Super Bowl for commercials. How sad is that?

If we're going to have some great, machismo, aggressive spectacle, why not go all the way and kill things?

The Roman Colleseum was basically the mob mentality of society glorified. It's no different with football.

Only way you can be offended by that is if you ARE gay, only people complaining to CBS about it are old white republican grandmothers and homosexuals... if you're straight and a guy I don't see how it's a problem? Men have boobs too just not as big yet were free to flont them, why not women?

As much as I hate to admit it I have to agree with Killzig the mordorator, your beginning post Neon doggy was provocative and therefore flaming should be expected. OTOH the more you react negatively to the gay calling the more people will use it to annoy you.

Me for example, I would be so angry if someone on this boards where to call me names you cant imagine, yet I always pretend that it didnt happen so people dont continue to do it.
