Why does anyone pay attention to such things? The whole point of these events is lost to me. If someone likes an actor, that's their opinion. Whether or not some UBER COOL ORGAN I ZATI ON thinks they're good or not should not affect anyone else's opinions.

If they nominated "Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter" for best cartoon, would that make the movie better?

And there are so many of them. I mean jesus, every single god damned channel has some awards show every other month.

What point do things like Survivor and American Idol have? The simple fact is that people want to watch it. If a show (any show) will get high ratings, stations will air it, and people will watch it.

The world is full of average people, you know people with average lifes who do average things. People who are not extremely rich, inteligent, beautiful or adventurous. Yet most of these average people would like to be one or more of these things. And so they dream, they dream about superstars, mansions and traveling to the Himalayas. These shows are dreams.

Award shows are pretty much worthless. They were probably made to give a great big pat on the back to all of the egotistic rich actors out there. Something like a pat on the back and "Good job!", but on a much larger scale.

As for me, I don't even watch the TV stations that air these POSs. You know, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. It's mostly liberal propaganda anyway. The History Channel, Discovery Channel, and Comedy Central are the stations I watch most, and you actually stimulate your brain and learn from watching them! *sarcastic "oh no!" look* Well, not Comedy Central, but the Chapelle Show is the shit, bitch! *chuckle*

I watch the Oscars. I've decided to stop watching the Globes, though, because that was the most boring three hours I've ever had to sit through. Nothing remotely interesting, funny, or unexpected. Gugghgh.
