Jagged Alliance Aficionados; Wildfire is released

Post by Wolfman Walt »

Jagged Alliance 2: Wildfire marks its release today. Although its still only an expansion, its Jagged Alliance and who doesn't like mercs? Supposibly the game sports all new crap but I'll just wait and see if it brings anything good/new to the formula.

The 16th; doesn't matter though, Amazon doesn't descriminate. Wildfire includes the original, Although I don't think it includes Unfinished Bussiness. Its not like its a big loss anyways, Unfinished Bussiness was a crappy expansion except it came with a Editor (I think). Still if anything this buy is worth it for those that missed the original and the expansion looks better then Unfinished Bussiness, it atleast allows as much freedom as JA2 if not more (supposibly).

Yeh, way better. In Wildfire, all you get is some reworked maps and new weapons. Woo-hoo!

In Urban Chaos, you get a completely new gameworld, a lot of new mercs, all new weapons, completely new storyline, etc. etc. And best of all: IT'S FREE!

UC kicks Wildfire's ass bigtime.

Go see at www.ja-galaxy-forum.com, download locations for UC are on the news page. Cool forum, too.

I love how Urban Chaos is in at least a dozen, neatly bundled downloads at Gamespy. I might have dl'ed it if I didn't have to jump through hoops and stand on my head while balancing 30 potatoes on my foot.

I got Jagged Alliance 2 Gold and Arcanum last Monday. I finished Arcanum on Saturday (it was good) and started playing JA2 properly today.

I keep having to restart because of things I could have done better? It could happen once or twice usually with rpgs, but I've wasted days of playing by restarting. Bizarro.

Why don't they sell urban chaos ;0:):0:)0:)) or put it on a cd or something :():):;):):;;0:0) instead of on fileplanet, the shittest place in the world :):0):0:0:99:):000;0:;::

I got it on Amazon since its probably not gonna be a big release. You might find it at Best buy or some other store, but amazon is probably your best bet.

Date first available at Amazon: January 15, 2004
?

Well, it looks like the difference between just Jagged Alliance 2 and JA2:Wildfire is about $6.

Is it worth it?

I want Jagged Alliance 2, but I'm worried it might be harder to get into it without playing the first. But I can't find the first anywhere.

I played a little bit of Urban Chaos and it's a pretty decent mod. They remove the ability to easily move between sectors which makes you confront enemies instead of avoiding them.

Its not, seriousily, theres very little correlation between the story in JA1 and JA2. Infact, I think theres only one little thing in JA2 that you would need to know from JA1 to get, and its a minor detail that is quickly blown away. So no worries, just get JA2.

you know, the worst thing about JA2 is English-speaking Ivan :(

Yeah there's absolutely no need to play JA1 before JA2, there's some inside jokes and many characters from the old games & that's pretty much it
