Where did the music go?

It seems that all I hear on the radio these days is limp bizkit, n0 regret(or whatever it's called) jim timberlake and christina aiulaera.

What happened to the good music that used to grace our radios? It seems that after 1995, 90% of all music turned into pure unrefined shit. It's only getting worse. EVANANEANANEANAENASENCE, LINKMY PARK, Ass Charlotte.

It's a gift from hate to humankind, and it is not the high class stuff(?).

Tell me what the fuck happened to stuff like the Cure, the Who, they were giants, and every other band that was remotely good.

And I almost hate the song from the Who that Limp BIZkut covered just because THEY covered it. See, it makes asses like me irrational!

The other day my 11 years old brother was listening to Evanescence. I slapped him.

Then he was watching S-Club 7 on my TV. I slapped him and said :"Thou shall not watch shit in my house".

Now he listens to cool music.

I don't think the radio has ever really played good music. I only listen to the radio in my car, and its always on the classical station. Listen to Schubert, he knows whats up.

I don't think so? At least the music in the 80s was about something they sort of believed in sometimes. Sometimes it also sounded good.

Some of the modern mainstream has a good tune but the lyrics are shit. Also most of it is a similair tune with different instruments and all bands have a shit image or something. Can't they dress like normal people instead of spending hours trying to look punk or something.

Yeah, most modern music is pure ass. I say "most" because Metallica put out an album a little while ago, and it is pretty good. Too bad that only Frantic and St. Anger are the only really "good" songs on it. Everything else reminds me of Load and Reload. How 'bout you?

Metallica was on its way to suck just about the same time as the soviet union collapsed. The radio plays mostly shit, except for some rap that I like to listen to for a good laugh. Modern music is going to shit as far as Im concerned, but a lot of local or more underground bands are making some pretty awesome stuff. You just have to look for it.

I never listen to the radio by choice unless its on the classical station where I know what to expect. Otherwise I just listen to and expand my play list and/or burn CD's for when I leave this infernal machine to go do other things. Modern music has merit. Not mainstream though. You just have to know where to look to find the good things, just like with anything else. If you walk into a game store, chances are you wont see Fallout or Planetscape:Torment on the wall with a golden glowing halo and armed guards around it. That spot'll be reserved for the new Barbie or Vin Diesel game (yes, he has one coming out). You have to know where to look to find the good stuff.

i find myself sometimes watching that evanessence chick because she can be quite attractive at times. and shes not totally headache causing stupid like so many other female "vocal artists". the chicks from s club are pretty nice too.

id love to know what you think cool music is.

Anyways, jetbaby hit the nail on the head: it's not modern music so much as it is mainstream music that sucks. Especially Avril Lavigne.

My local radio station recently went through a bit of a change and they play a good amount of decent material now. They play the Cure all the time. There's still a lot of room for improvement, but why complain when you can kazaa?

The problem I have with most music nowadays is that the bands are MUCH more concerned with their image than they are with their actual music. And the sad thing is, that's what people want.
