And Urban Chaos adds a lot of Close Quarter Combat. And it's not like there was no grass height and cover in the original JA2...
Really, if you already have JA2 at home, don't waste money on Wildfire. If you don't, well, then the 6 bucks don't make all that much of a difference. Frankly, I'm just curious as to why someone would pay money for a mod when you can get a waaaaaaaay superiour one for free...
On the other hand, purchasing Wildfire might convince SFI to start working on JA3...
(Although we all know such a line of thought is wishful thinking, no?)

Well, JA3 got a whopping 64% on SF's poll the other day, so if that doesn't convince them to make another game i don't know what will. I don't know if i'd like another sequel though, as it might be dumbed down and many of the RPG elements removed to cater to the "regular crowd".
I would actively buy wildfire if it wasn't for the fact that its exactly the same as JA2 but with reworked maps. But then again theres GRASS! So who knows, maybe I will get it. Urban Chaos makes me cry anyway.

What the fuck is up with the grass ? Do the mercs smoke it, or what ?
There is already grass in JA2,
or is that supposed to be some feature of JA2 UB that was implemented by that Wildfire mod ? Maybe that's the same features like in the JA2 Gold edition, then ?
Regarding buying that mod: Hell, I even bought JA2 UB and it was not more than a mod, but at least it provided a valuable editor and there was some hope that it could finance bankrupt SirTech at least a bit ?
But this Wildfire mod will have nothing except for some weapons and maps, lol ?! That Wildfire guy became a real whore.
However, if you don't have JA2 yet, it might be worth it for that price nonetheless.

(Bumping this like you wouldn't believe)
So, Wildfire is out now.
If there are any JA2 fans here who happen to know something of C; then I've got good news for you. Strategy First was actually cool enough to include the JA2 source code with the Wildfire disks!
Of course, the JA community immediately started on a project to decypher the source code, and tweak the engine to all eternity.
If anyone here might be interested, go take a look at Bear's Pit. The more programmers working on Project Sourcecode, the better.
