Bah. I got Progressive.
I like Dream Theater's spinoff Liquid Tension Expiriment, but that's about it.
Unless you consider Joe Satriani and shredders like Igor Belsky progressive, I love those. To me, Progressive is Frank Zappa. :)

Heavy Metal has become an overloaded term. I've stopped labelling music for a while now and I like it.

Yay. Satriani rocks, though.

Well his playing is overly technical and emotionless. That is to say, if he adds emotion (like in Love Thing), it is done through his wah-wah pedal and not by vibrato. Of course doing both at the same time sounds more emotional, but gets you a garbled sound. (Hendrix)

That said, Satriani is just a great composer, and capable of playing his compositions the way he envisions them, kind of like piano players do. It does make for interesting music, and his compositions do rock.

You are a True Metalhead. You dig the classic music and the classic lifestyle. As metalheads go, you're pretty open-minded in terms of music and lyrics; if it rocks, then you'll listen to it. Concerts are the pinnacle of the metal experience, though sometimes they get a little too crazy. You generally respect everybody else, but as far as you're concerned, they all wish they were Priest or Maiden.
Schala...I've missed you so...NO!

You are a Black Metal KVLTist. Black metal is one of the most extreme and advanced forms of metal (or music in general), and you're damn proud of the fact that you have the balls and brains to listen to it. As a matter of fact, it may very well be the only thing you listen to - everything else seems to lose its charm (though that's not the case with everyone). The whole concept of concerts doesn't excite you much - the music sounds just as good on CD, after all, and there's too many morons stumbling around at shows. You're just not a people person; other metalheads respct you to a degree but think you're kind of a dick (and often a racist fucker). You don't really care what they think, of course - you know you're better.

Not really a surprise. And yeah... Most of'em really do only wish they were Priest or Maiden... or Kiss. :) Bring back the 80's and late 70's!!!

Anyone here remember Anthraxx? I thought they were pretty good, better than Slayer at least.

Heard of it, but (*/me is ashamed*) never heard OF it :) I mean, I've never listened to any of their songs, but many people I know sure seem to love 'em.
