Hey, if I had female slaves, I wouldn't let them wear clothes. At least in my house. In public I would let them, since I don't want anyone else deriving free sexual pleasure from MY slave.
One hears all the time that the egyptians couldn't have the technology, engineering etc to build such perfect buildings,
like the stones are lined up with almost no gaps and all that.
It is said that this accuracy couldn't even be achieved with today's techniques ?
Ever heard of secrets of the ancients?
dunno, guess not
Is this some kind of book, or what ?

I own a copy of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, it's pretty neat0.

Egyptians were neat because they had interesting ideas, were very mysterious and had all sorts of advanced things, compared to their time.

One theory says that the main reason Pharaohs built the pyramids was that they *knew* there was no afterlife. They knew it would all end and that they were no Gods... They'd simply die, just like the peasants/slaves working for them. So they wanted to leave something behind, something to proove that their lives wasn't in vain. So they built the pyramids.

Don't know how much that stuff could be trusted, but it's intriguing, to say at least.

"Slavery..."

Post by Apocalypse 2077 »

Technically speaking everyone in ancient Eygpt was a slave because they were under the pharoah and he commanded there ever move if he wished to... the pharoah was a a living god in Eygptian culture.

Yeah. I believe the only reason people believe there is an afterlife is because they don't want to even think of non-existence. Their must be life after death because their god is good etc..

But I digress.

The only thing that Egyptian slaves were used for was hard labor. They were beaten or even killed if they refused to work. Quite barbaric, I'd say.

... Like Ludvig XIV.
But still all French weren't slaves?

You can't say living under a despot's rule and living the life of a slave is the same thing.

Dumbass.

Try learning something once in a while. Then maybe you'd be in a position to argue your side. Until then, there isn't anything to support what you're saying.

Depends on the civilization.

The Spanish, the French, the Romans....hell, I would say that the tradition of "western" slavery is to be brutal. And the Romans, at least, where brutal, though by the Arab invasions slavery is only a thing for the exceptionally wealthy.

Actually, Slavery in the Muslim world was of paramount importance to world history. For instance the Oguz people (Turks&other Altaic people) became very prominent in Arab society due to thier terrific fighting skills. They became so prevelent, that the Caliph moved from Baghdad to Hillah. However, it was to late, and by the 11th Century the Turks established a culture that went from Nicea to China.

Same happens to the Caucasian Mamelukes, who establish an empire of lasting, yet negatative, perportrions in the mid east.

And the History Channel is worse then useless. Though I am inclined to agree, as I am one of the few avowed thiests on these boards.

dont you know?
the pyramids were built by aliens as a way to show where our planet was seeded from. humans actually come from the orion nebula. they put us here as an experiment to see how we would develop.
oh, and theres a cigar shaped ufo under the sphinx so we can go back.

Nonsense. The Old Ones built the pyramids. All we have to do is wait for a few thousand years for Cthulhu to wake up and wackiness shall ensue.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

That is so wrong. Humans are the descendants of marcian colonists who fled when Mars was destroied during the Citerian wars. The use of antimatter bombs, maser canons and laser rifles destroied the planets surface and the survivors escaped here.
