Hah, that was a good one. Seriously though, how perfect would a MM role be for Kurt Russell? All he ever plays is that kind of gritty anti-hero.

I really think Kurt Russell would do an awesome Mad Max. Has he done anything lately though, save Mighty Ducks 5 (or "Miracle" as they call it) that is coming out soon? But yeah. I hope they avoid the huge budget special effects route. I want good old-fashioned REAL explosions, bodies flying, cars smashing, baby-being-run-over-with-a-motorcycle-just-because action. Bring on the low-budget!

I hope you aren't serious. Mel Gibson is the only person who can play Mad Max. It's HIS role. Mel Gibson is Mad Max and Mad Max is Mel Gibson. Besides, George Miller said he wouldn't do the movie without him.

And Kurt Russell already has Snake Plissken.

Maybe it would be better to say that Kurt Russel would fit well as a character in a Mad Max movie. Angry John or something stupid like that.

Let me claify. I meant a Mad Max <i>role</i> (i.e. the protaganist), not Mad Max himself. I would NEVER accept a movie that starred Mad Max played by anyone but Mel Gibson. However, Kurt Russell showed, as Snake Plissken, that he can do post-apocalyptic settings... well.

Any more sequals would just cheepen the movie it seems to me. It's great as it is, Mel Gibson in a girdle wouldn't do and no one else is Mad Max in my eyes, and apparently a few other's. It's a trilogy, and a great one. I'll have to agree with the Star Wars analogy; it would just be overkill.

I strongly believe they would have killed off Max in the fourth one. It was their original plan in Thunderdome. That would have been a real bummer.
