You can get by fine without math or science, but you'll have to rock at something else if you want to thrive. Talent is definately a requirement.
I don't think angst has anything to do with it, assuming you've thought this through. A friend of my dad's moved out of his house at 15 and supported himself fine, all on his own. But you'll need (A) a damn good way to get by - McDonald's won't cut it - and (B) a whole bunch of friends you can lean on for favors, and who won't get angry when you do so. But if you can arrange some stuff, then by all means, go through with it. You'll have fun.

Why is everyone so anti-store owners nowadays? Granted, a gaming store wouldn't be the greatest thing to own (it would be fun, though), but a lot of other small-scale stores do pretty well yet people think the owners are always underachievers. Bah.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

This is true. You know how easy algebra is? I passed it.
The obvious answer, son, (and this is coming at somebody who graduated high school at the age of 14, so listen, motherfucker) is to learn algebra and all the other shit you flunked out of in high school, then get a job and go to college. Or go to some trade school and be a welder or some shit. Fuck all the "omg angst i hate my parents" bullshit -- parents are awesome to leech off of, but you have to show a bit of initiative first. Might seem unfair, but it's a worthy trade.
And if you're not into any of the above shit, commit suicide in an awesome way, tape it, and have the video sent to me after your death.

Listen to the man, because he is wise in many ways. Getting a job, while living with your parents, is a great way to save up funds since you'd have very little expenses.

So I want to move out. And get out of this horrible wasteland. I'm only 17 and I have no job, no money, but I have a car...and my parents won't co-sign because I fail algebra. So what do I do?
I think we have all wanted to move out, but its not usually a viable option untill you are wee bit older. If you have the means, then do it. Failing algebra is completely unacceptable though. I was a complete fuckup my freshmen year, but I kicked my own ass and pulled through with good enough grades. Failing a class is just fucking stupid, as long as you try to do you're work you will pass. If you're going to move out and continue school, awesome. If youre going to drop out of highschool because you're angsty and will eventually become a burden on society living off welfare, kill yourself now.
Hm, he could use a good webcam, and make it tape like 10 mins of video ( or something), and make the webcam-software save the file to a specific folder, and share that folder on Direct Connect, so that when the file is finished, we can just dl it off him on DC ( which he has to leave on, of curse ;) )

Why should your parents help finance you, when you're showing absolutely no responsibility?
Get a job.
Sound advice. The sooner you learn that your parents aren't going to bankroll your entire life, the better. If you want more than they can/want to provide you with, you're going to have to finish school and join the rat race with the rest of us wage slaves. Or marry some 90 year old millionairess and fuck her to death... You get the estate and she dies with a goofy grin on her face. Other options are a criminal or military career. The millitary option don't pay so good, but you get 3 squares day and no-one kicks your front teeth out so you can't bite on the many dicks you'll be forced to suck on your first day in prison which is where you'll end up if you go with the criminal career.

Damnit Atoga, you know how I hate to correct you...*sigh*, I said he was "my manager", not the owner, therefore did well enough only to barely pay the rent in a shitty apt., his then 5 year old dodge and college tuition. If he was the owner of this particular small-gaming store, he'd be quite fucking wealthy; the real owners were REAL assholes.
Oh and our little friend here with his 'waaaah poor me!' problems seems like his parents aren't hard enough on him :
You left this thread to start this one after all these people gave you advice in this one? Couldn't it have been relevent here? Its clear to me your attitude about school sucks. Enjoy the real world of burger flipping!
Yea you're a real w1nn3r...you're parents aren't doing enough and I feel bad for them...hell I'd take your flipp'in car away and shackle your ass to your room until you grew up a little more. Then again as Neon pointed out, you're starting up on these threads just for the hell of it, and you're probably not even watching this one anymore. Nice going chief.
Then again maybe all your problems are due to the fact that you DESPERATELY need to get laid...here's my clue :
Damn, EvoG, you're angry. I wasn't referring to your friend, though I stand corrected; it was just a general rant.

but then in high school one of my teachers was "sick" for the whole year and we had new subs every couple of weeks throughout the year.
That happened to me in Calculus, and I thought it completely sucked, but the few times our real teacher was in, it turned out she can't teach worth shit either, and we all ended up teaching each other out of the textbook.

"Wage slaves".
I like that.
I'll tell you, being 34, it's a bit hard to remember the painful angst and oppression that the parents can exude, but I do recall being 16-17, with a 1969 Mustang that I wanted to restore, and a 386-33 PC I wanted to upgrade.
Folks took care of the "non-essentials" food, shelter, even car insurance.
The rest I got from busting my ass slinging pizza's at Pizza Hut for minimum wage.
You want parents to treat you like you're "grown up". Then show it by taking responsibility and displaying a measure of maturity, rather then sitting in front of your computer, whining to a bunch of folks on a forum that could give a flyin' fuck.

We all turn into our dads in one way or another... Just wait 'til you have kids yourself - you'll find yourself saying all the inane parental crap you swore you'd never say when you were on the receiving end of it!
