Right here.
Is ships in October. Is anybody here that excited, or do you just think the series is dead?

suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.
Haha, I loved the "Preorder now to avoid disappointment" line, when you consider the game isn't coming out for another 10 months.
I was never into the GTA series; not saying they aren't good games though. I don't know, if they really made improvements to the game engine instead of just marginal ones, and really expanded upon the gameplay, I may be interested. But it probably has more to do with the fact that this genre just isn't my type.

Yea atoga, after 30 million in sales, I guess they are dead.
Can't fucking wait for this. Awesome.
ADD: Oh, in case anyone wanted to grasp the scope of success for this series, when GTA3 was released, that year ending, when Take2 did their financials, that ONE game accounted for 45% of their total earnings, and they had published quite a few games.

i guess evog and his like are the reason game series, with the same regurgitated bullshit, sell like wildfire.EvoG wrote:Yea atoga, after 30 million in sales, I guess they are dead.![]()

Guess so bub, since it is a small taste to where emergent gameplay is headed. EVERY SINGLE PERSON I know, from the smartest, to the Fallout fan, to the developer, ALL unanimously love this game, and its implications for this kind of gameplay for the future.
If you're about to try to define it as merely the mass market dumb-mans game, then you're being a tad myopic.
And whats 'my' like?
Oh and explain regurgitated? You mean like how Fallout 2 was like Fallout 1?

i dont love GTA 3. its alright but its nothing to be fanboy about. shit the only one worth playing sometimes is the original. all the fucking games have you doing the same shit from a different perspective and some new missions. oh and shiny graphics.EvoG wrote:Guess so bub, since it is a small taste to where emergent gameplay is headed. not to say it isnt a dumb mans game. my 10 year old brother thinks its king shit and he can barely read. im pretty sure you dont solve complex puzzles and have to think about strategy in them so how am i being careless?
and for your last question. fallout 2 wasnt regurgitation it was a sequel. there is a difference. i dont see you killing the master in the second one and i dont see you visiting the glow either. but in GTA im sure you run missions in cars with bombs and you steal the same cars over and over again to accomplish shitty missions with no real rewards other than cash thats useless and serves no purpose.

Personally GTA reached perfection with one and two. Three was in my opinion garbage, especially when Vice City came out. Vice City was enjoyable, though nothing will ever match the glory of the first two. Hopefully this new one will be worth the money I may just pay for it.
off topic? OMG YOU'VE BEEN CENSORED... yet you're still posting. MYSTARY!!!!

Erm, edge over fallout? Where was that said. The point is that all games are similar at their core (within their respective genres)...its about how they're delivered...Journey vs. Destination and all that jazz. What distinguishes a game for me is how it well it DELIVERED those core elements, otherwise, they're the same. ![smile :)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)

*yawn* GTA'll never die, its one of those series that'll just keep selling for as long as its got the name. For a game where the idea of npc interaction is beating them with a bat you'd think the death animations would be a little more fun to look at. I played gta3 because everyone was telling me it was OMGVOONDERBAR. It was fine for a once over, wouldn't want to play it again. I didn't like the story, I didn't like being forced into a bad story, and the side quests didn't interest me at all. I hate driving in traffic in real life, why the hell would I want to do it in a game? UHOH GANG TERRITORY NOW THEY SHOOT U DED FAGET! LEWL. That being said, I probably won't give in and buy a copy of this next installment. No matter what anybody says. I'm just not interested...
The answer to your first question is shaddup.

I think that GTA could benefit with:
>character generation (*),
>different endings according to your actions
>a more open-ended structure (i hated that i had to do things like whacking Kenji in GTA3 to move on)
>a much better story (give me something like Mafia and i'm happy go lucky)
>the opportunity to be more of a gangster
An official multiplayer mode would be nice. I don't like MP much, but it'd be good nonetheless.
*not creation, i don't want it to have RPG elements; the last thing i want is to give more fuel to idiots who claim GTA is an RPG. All i want is to be able to select my own avatar and soundset. I'd also like it if there were minute differences in NPC interaction if i was either playing a male or female avatar.
As for disliking it. I can see why it isn't some people's cup of tea, but claiming its regurgiated... hell, that basically defines the videogame industry in their whole. Making GTA the scapegoat is hardly appropriate. Specially because Vice City already improved aspects of the game, so it went beyond mere repetition.

Your idols speak so much of the abyss, yet your morals only run as deep as the surface.

I love gta but I am not here for the killing and everything. I just like to ride around find the packages and do all the mission, and no there is't complexe puzzle, but there is creative ways to do the missions. A good exemple is killing the european mafia boss in gta3.
