Not really 'art', photos
I got some pretty photos I ripped off from an old book of mine. I edited them all to 1024x768 -format, so they can be used as Loading Screens for Fallout mods, desktop wallpapers etc. etc. You're free to use them if you want, because I don't hold the copyrights for them anyways
First some Wastelandish pictures. Three variations of one large photo.

Nah, the thing that they "found out" was a huge media storm back here, but after a while / ten new research-projects, the final summary was that there were something like 8 jews returned and less than 40(?) Russians (mostly officers, spies, ie. valuable people) sent to Germany.
I highlighted the word 'returned', because all those eight men were originally from Germany or Austria. There were, in fact, about 200 jewish soldiers fighting *side by side* with the Germans and Finns during the Continuation War in 1941-1944. As a side note: during the war some of the Jews excelled so well in battle, that they were awarded high decorations from the Germans (Iron Cross for example!), but they refused to accept them, because of what the Nazis had been doing for the Jews lately...
Anyways, Finland was asked to give those people up (this is the thing the media began to exaggerate), but the Finnish government replied that they had no Jewish problem in their country. And that was it. Finland was such an insignificant place that the Nazis couldn't bother to start fighting over those 200 jews + their families and at the same time such an important frontline that the Germans couldn't afford to lose their allies there.
Sooo.... There has actually been a memorial monument for those 8 jews sent back to Germany for like... 50 years I think? So no, we ain't gonna burn our history books just because one historian and the scandal media rewrote the 40's time-line
In fact, a much more bigger dealio was the handover of the "Russians" (people living in the border of Finland & Soviet Union, the Karelians & Ingrians) back to CCCP . These were people who fleed from their homes when the wars began and moved to inner-Finland instead of inner Soviet Union, because they didn't want to live under the communist rule. Well.... when the peace was finally sued, one of the articles demanded the return of those people. So we had no other choice or otherwise our already beaten up country would've been conquered and annexed to the Union of Sosialist Soviet Republics. Every one of those people returned were sent straight away to labor camps in Siberia, because the "capitalist influence", as Stalin called it, was wanted to be kept as a secret/away from the public. Like later in DDR.

Ok, a long history lesson, but who cares - it was fun (no?).

um, you make it sound like this happend ages ago - the last time new facts was brought up was just some months ago, I'm having some trouble seeing that much research happening in such a short time span -
this article - http://www.dn.se/DNet/jsp/polopoly.jsp?d=148&a=224015 [in swedish] from january talks about 18 700 prisoner deaths during the war, and 2800 deported - mostly commies, and only 10-12 known jews, and even "better" finland deported them for "other" reasons, and besides there was an exchange of prisoners.
BBC sported some fairly harsh numbers this summer, about finland sending their own to germany, and the numbers are doubtful, but when the DN article was published none had put BBCs numbers to death, and I'm not sure they still live on.
- true we are still talking about pretty low scale stuff, but many of the history books are to my knowlage alot nicer.

Hm... There weren't many Russians sent to Germany, really. Those numbers aren't correct. About 90% of those who survived (the conditions at the prison camps were really harsh, diseases caused by bad hygiene etc.) were sent straight back to Soviet Union - their homeland - where they were executed or sent to Siberia. :-/ Yeah. Something like that.
This whole media storm was caused by one woman and her book. She had done research on the subject and came to a totally different conclusion than those dozens of historians before *and* after her. In the end, the whole prisoner exchange was really small-scale, especially on the Jews.
The most important thing is, that there were no Death Camps of holocaust in Finland - the prisoners were only sent to Germany, Finland's ally at that time. And those that were sent were either war prisoners (which makes it totally acceptable, there's nothing wrong with that) or jews originating from Germany/Austria and that were claimed to be petty criminals in their homeland (which was a lie, of course, but what could've we done? told Nazis they were filthy liers while they had several divisions on our soil?) It's not like the Finns had anything to do with the actual act of 'ethnic cleansing'.

Nice pics, not really fallout fan art but who cares anyway.
If I recall correctly, Germany demanded the deportation of jews, gypsys and such but no large amounts were sent to concentration camps. Finnish government was against this, although they were brothers-in-arms with Germany. Considering prison camp deaths, I would be more worried about the conditions during the civil war.
